Today (30th August 2025, around 8:30–8:40 PM), my wife and her friend went for an office party at Dearie (Office Party Venue) in Gardens Galleria Mall, and what happened at the entrance was absolutely shameful and unacceptable.

The security guards at the mall stopped them and refused to let them enter, asking if they had a booking and demanding they show it right there for entry into the mall.

Excuse me, since when did malls start requiring bookings just to enter? This is not a nightclub; it is a public shopping and entertainment mall. Even worse:

• The guards laughed at them and made them extremely uncomfortable. • There was no female security guard present, which is completely against basic women’s safety norms. • One of the guards had the audacity to say, “We can sense from people’s faces whom to allow and whom not to.”

→ This is discrimination, harassment, and absolute misuse of authority. After arguing for some time, they were finally allowed in — but why should women have to argue just to enter a mall where they are paying customers?

This is NOT about security, this is harassment.

This is a matter of basic respect, women’s dignity, and safe public access.

I demand answers from Gardens Galleria Mall Management:

Why are women being stopped at the mall entrance without valid reasons? Why are guards making such insensitive and discriminatory remarks? Why is there no proper presence of female security staff, especially when questioning women? What training are these guards given to deal with visitors? Clearly, they lack professionalism and basic decency.

If this is how you treat women at the entrance, this mall is not safe for families, not safe for women, and not safe for anyone.
