I’m a Punjab Grill fan — so why the low rating? Let me explain.
I’ve been a loyal patron of Punjab Grill for years and have visited multiple outlets across different cities. Unfortunately, my recent experience at this branch was deeply disappointing — by far the worst I’ve had.
I visited on a Sunday night with my family, expecting the same warm hospitality and premium service that Punjab Grill is known for. However, from the moment we stepped in, things started to fall apart. Despite the restaurant being visibly understaffed and chaotic, no one attended to us upon entry. When I approached a staff member for a table for four, we were made to wait over 10 minutes — not because there was a waitlist, but because every single table was dirty. It was only after I requested the manager to step in that a table was finally cleaned. Until then, the rest of the staff seemed either overwhelmed or indifferent.
Coming to the ordering experience — it was equally underwhelming. The server assigned to our table was inattentive and uncooperative. Not only did he lack the time or patience to guide us through the menu, but he also appeared visibly irritated when we sought recommendations. His responses were curt and unhelpful, which made the entire process feel rushed and unpleasant.
The service throughout the meal was shockingly poor. Not a single dish was served by the staff — we had to manage everything ourselves. No napkins, no tissues, not even water until repeatedly asked. What stood out most was when I asked for tissues, the server casually pointed to a used tissue already on the table and said, “Sir, ye pada toh hua hai, use kar lijiye.” Honestly, that was the last straw. This isn’t just about a meal — this reflects a complete breakdown of basic service standards.
As for the food — while the kadhai paneer was flavorful and lived up to expectations, the pindi chole was just average. What’s worse, we had to wait 20 minutes for chapatis and more than 30 minutes for the rest of our food to arrive.
Punjab Grill is known for offering a 4-star dining experience — but sadly, nothing about this visit came close to that standard. The staff seemed disorganized, uninterested, and completely disconnected from the essence of hospitality.
I rarely write negative reviews, but as a long-time fan of Punjab Grill, I hope this feedback is taken seriously. There’s still time to fix what’s broken — but this branch urgently...
Read moreOrder: Dahi k kebab; Nad'du kebab, dal makhni, paneer lababdar, Garlic & butter naan.
Short review: I'm traumatized for life.
Long review: Dahi k kebab were too sweet to even qualify as kebab, the kebabs were not at all balanced, the taste of cardamom was overpowering everything else. Nad'du k kebab were made of anything but Nad'du, or at the least, it didn't taste like it, moreover, it was too dry to even gulp, there was a disc like thing— a sorcery capable of ending the world with nothing but its taste—served with each Nad'du kebab. Dal makhni didn't taste good at all, rather it was tasteless, and undercooked. Black lentils dal from mid-day meal would probably taste better. Paneer lababdar was lab-laba, paneer had not absorbed any taste whatsoever, and the gravy was nothing but Tomatoes.
Management was not good, the table wasn't set up properly, none of us had proper cutlery in front of us until we asked several times after the food was served. Serving water is the bare minimum one can serve first thing to the guests, be it at home or at restaurants, but we ourselves had to ask for water to be served to us, which we later on were served but with a long wait and a cold "ma'am you'll have to wait for it". Really! waiting for water to be poured in a half empty restaurant?!
The staff response was BAD. The restaurant personnel, Mr. Vikas, was least bothered about taking food order and feedback, and was argumentative, he walked away without fully listening to what feedback we had to give and was arguing, saying, " this is how we make food here".
We were not happy with the food and service and so asked to remove the service charge, only to hear that they won't remove it. On top of that, the restaurant refused to accept payment through Zomato even though it is registered with Zomato dining program.
For whom it's a deal breaker, for a restaurant which serves Indian food, you can't expect mouth freshener after your meal. At least, we didn't get it with the bill or after paying it.
Overall, I'm traumatized for life. Would never visit Punjab...
Read moreDear Punjabi Grill Team,
I recently had dinner with my family at your Punjabi Grill outlet in Gaur City Mall, Greater Noida, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, the service we received was highly unsatisfactory and fell short of the standards one would expect from a reputed establishment like yours.
Service Issues: The service was disappointing and lacked professionalism. The staff and manager appeared untrained in handling customer interactions, which negatively impacted our dining experience.
Hygiene Concerns: I was extremely disheartened to find a strand of hair in my food. Such lapses in hygiene are unacceptable and undermine trust in your establishment.
Value for Money: While the food was decent, it did not justify the price point, especially given the poor service and hygiene concerns.
Staff Behavior: The attitude of the staff was unreasonably rude and unprofessional, which further compounded our dissatisfaction.
As an HR professional, I have frequently organized team meals and events, often reimbursed by my company. However, based on this experience, I will strongly reconsider hosting any future events at any Punjabi Grill location unless significant improvements are made.
I urge your team to invest in thorough staff training, particularly in customer service, hygiene, and professionalism. Incorporating a comprehensive Q&A or FAQ module in training programs could be beneficial in addressing common customer concerns effectively.
I hope you will take this feedback constructively and work towards ensuring a better dining experience for...
