There are dhabas and then there is 'Ajit Khalsa Dhaba'. This is like the holy grail of dhabas. Not necessarily a dhaba as it has transformed in little bigger place over the course of time, but still it retains its essence of dhaba. Let me explain you how. First of all the ground floor has seating like a dhaba which is superb. And if you are out on date or with family then there is family lounge above which looks like a proper restaurant. But the best part unlike many greedy places is that the prices and rates are the same in both the seating arrangements. I have been here umpteen number of times for fine in to celebrate on various occasions and just like that when cravings for dhaba style food is there. I order regularly once to twice per week. It almost never disappoints. My only complaint is sometimes during peak hours maybe due to rush or in a hurry they put little bit more green chillies making dishes quite spicier. Hence during peak hours I specifically request to out as little chilly as possible and then we are good.
It has lot of staff and they are humble as well as swift. The kitchen is partially open and it's freaking hugeee!! Food is served well in dishes. Taste is finger licking good. And I literally mean that!! The best part is the price which is just like the regular dhabas and the quantity served per dish is more than adequate. The owners are polite. All the payments are accepted whether it be cash, card or through online platforms. Home delivery is also offered for amount over 300 and above and within 2-3 km radius around. But be advised that it's available via calling only!!
The place is highly recommended from my end. You have to visit this place to experience what I'm talking about. Whether you want dhaba experience for food or an excellent place offering delicious varities of food, this is the place to be. #Chicken Masala, #Butter chicken, #Stuffed tomato, #Malai Kofta, #Dum aloo, #Butter naan and #Garkic naan are amongst must try dishes. For starters #Afghani chicken and #Grill chicken are my favourites which you can...
Read moreWant to give 0 stars to them for the sheer arrogant attitude of the owner and the workers alike, but unfortunately 1 is the minimum. We have been eating from this place since 2 years now and been there regular customers. Today we ordered butter chicken and mutton seekh kebab. After eating two pieces of chicken, while I was eating the third one, I noticed a foul (rotten like decomposing animals) smell and realized it was coming from the chicken. We stopped eating butter chicken and called the restaurant to inform them. Instead of apologizing or trying to understand the issue, the owner arrogantly started saying "chicken smells like this only". I explained to him and asked him to get it collected to check for himself. A runner collected it and the owner called again speaking in such arrogance that no such smell was coming and that we have had the entire butter chicken and returning these small pieces. I explained to him that I am neither asking for a refund nor complaining, rather concerned about the quality of the food, being their regular customers, but the owner was still rude and arrogant.
Only concern, one should not become so arrogant so as to forget the base line of the food industry- being hospitable.
The problem with Ajit Khalsa Dhaba is nothing but the sheer arrogance and ego.
Good luck to those who are going to eat their food and God forbid find something below standards. We are just praying that our health is not affected when we wake up in the morning.
Happy...
Read moreThis dhaba is on chattarpur main road just opposite Tivoli Garden. Well now dhaba is not justified word for this eating place, rather restaurant should be the right word. Anyhow it's really a very old dhaba or once it was really a dhaba. Time passed and this road which was once a non city road became a part of the city. The area developed and residential appartment near and around this road and place flourished. Since all this development now this so called dhabha also got a new look and changed entire dhabha into a kind of restaurant, leaving the name and may be food unchanged because today people know this dining due its name. It's kind of brand name. Ok so it's on main road, tho road is very narrow for parking due to traffic which keeps honking. The dhabha is reasonably ok, crowded after 12pm. It is mostly famous among non-vegetarians. Food is ok, for mediocre family it's a little expensive but for a reasonable salaried it's cheap. I was not allowed to click pictures inside the restaurant so limited pics. It was reasonablly clean. Toilet was ok. The manger incharge or owner was little unpolite or unpleasant. Won't say it's an excellent dhabha, an...
