My recent stay at Hotel Star Suites, along with two other companions, spanned a disappointing eight days. Despite the positive online image it manages to maintain, I must emphasize that this hotel fell far short of expectations, especially given its price point. Here's a detailed review outlining our unfortunate experiences:
Room Quality: The most glaring issue with Hotel Star Suites is the dismal condition of its rooms. In my quest for a decent room, I was compelled to inspect four different ones, only to find various issues in each. Most notably, water leakage in the washrooms was a recurring problem. It's unacceptable that such basic maintenance issues persist, tarnishing the overall guest experience.
Communication Breakdown: Communicating with the hotel staff was an ordeal in itself. There was no reliable way to reach the reception. Their in-room phone system appeared non-functional, and our rooms had poor mobile signal reception. Even when we managed to make a call, receptionists rarely answered. This led to frustrating and frequent walks to the reception desk for simple requests, including something as basic as ordering a water bottle.
Ventilation Woes: Hotel Star Suites lacks adequate ventilation on its floors, and this design flaw becomes painfully evident at night. Every evening after 10 pm, the entire floor was engulfed in smoke, emanating from one or more rooms where guests were smoking. It's disheartening that the hotel doesn't enforce a strict non-smoking policy or offer designated smoking areas to ensure a pleasant environment for all guests.
Location Challenges: Another significant drawback of this hotel is its location. Guests should be prepared to endure waiting times of 20-30 minutes on average to secure a cab. This inconvenience adds unnecessary stress to travel plans and can be especially frustrating after a long day of exploring the city.
In summary, Hotel Star Suites' online image greatly misrepresents the actual experience. The pervasive issues with room quality, communication breakdowns, poor ventilation, and location challenges make it difficult to recommend this establishment. My rating for this hotel would be 2 out of 5, with the hope that management takes immediate steps to address these critical shortcomings to improve the overall...
Read moreThis is a smallish 3-storey hotel that incorporates a Haldiram restaurant and outlet on the ground floor. Each room offers a double bed, a small dressing area, wardrobe and an ensuite. Bottled water, kettle with tea and coffee, soap, shower gels and towels are provided. There is no iron, fridge or lockable safe in each room. There is a hair dryer. The rooms are generally clean but some fixtures and fittings are seriously aged but functional and so remain unchanged. Food and hot drinks are available around the clock, though we did not use the service. Wifi is free and works best the closer your room is to to the wifi router. Breakfast is served daily from 9-11am which is a fairly tight schedule. Apart from the usual masala based hot meals found around India in the morning, there is a limited range of cereals, sandwiches, fruits and porridge for those who want a more continental menu to start the day. Staff are helpful and obliging. Standards are not the same as the branded internal chains of hotels but for a short city break, this is an acceptable and modest alternative. Parking is limited to the space infront of the hotel to about...

We informed the staff about things not functioning so instead of providing a solution they had excuses ready or ready to argue and be resistant Things that did not work - Key Card Kettle Shower Fridge AC ( After 1 am ) 2 room Lights
Forcing the guests to order and eat food from their sub standard and mediocre restaurant and not allowing guest to bring food from outside
Duping customers to overcharge for rooms saying information on OYO is incorrect. When a question was raised about the same the owner who was a typical Local from Haryana used his demeaning tone and accent and started to threaten us mentioning that we will not be allowed to leave
Worst Hotel ever. Cannot even qualify as a hotel, A night in a hostel would have been probably 1000 times better
