Berco's - If You Love Chinese — Restaurant in Delhi

This review is not a positive review at all after my personal experience along with family on a Saturday evening. However since I have given two stars let me tell you the positive side first.

What ever they served that evening was freshly cooked and tasty. There's no doubt about the freshness and taste of the meal.

Otherwise the service is pathetic. I repeat pathetic. I reached the place by around 2100 h. There were two other tables which had occupants. I wanted to order Thai dishes, since I decided to visit the place after searching Google for Thai restaurants. I was told that Thai starters/ appetizers is not available for the day (remember its Saturday evening and they are supposed to serve good Thai menu). So we had to settle for dry shredded chicken. After browsing the menu for main course the waiter agreed for a Thai sizzler and Red Thai curry with chicken and noodles. My order was promptly taken. We waited for good 40 mins and by the time all the tables were occupied. There were only two waiters for the entire restaurant (on a Saturday evening). So at the end of 40 mins one of the boys comes over and started serving what he said was Red Thai curry with noodles. I never had seen such red Thai earlier (pics attached). When I enquired for starters, I was told it's coming..... Wow.... starters/ appetizers after I finish my main course...... I went to the kitchen door and request one of the boys to let me speak to the manager. It never happened. Because the manager never turned up. Then came the sizzler which was good... very good. I cancelled my order for starters as we already started eating. No one ever came to serve the meal. It was just kept on the table and the boy literally ran away (the restaurant was full). We quickly finish the meal and went over to the billing clerk to pay and leave, not daring to ask for a dessert. Again I requested the billing clerk to let me speak to the manager. I waited for good 15 minutes. However no one came. All the while the billing clerk kept apologising and offered me 15% discount which I accepted. The clerk told me that they had a lot of requests for home deliveries and so was delayed in serving and also short of manpower. He requested me to come back again some day when they are free and also said he is not charging service tax from me.......Lol.

It's a personal experience. While eating out in any place the first thing you expect is good service and a fulfilling experience. In my case it was zero out a of a scale of ten. Andwill never suggest any one to visit unless you want to spoil your evening out...

I did not like the staff at Bercos Rajouri Garden. Highly uncalled for attitude. The restaurant may have generated enough business but it does not mean that it forgets what business is it running. In hospitality industry it's the politeness and courtesy that speaks for itself. Unfortunately the incharge of the restaurant only enjoys sitting at the cash counter counting currency notes and when asked for something there is no response as if he did not understand a word. Most unfortunately when he was questioned about 'toh fu' for the second time whether it's available or not, the response was "nahi bola toh nahi hai". This is not expected from a reputed restaurant chain. We left without even ordering the food after coming across such hostile attitude. Either the volume of business and work has taken away the man's senses or it seems the restaurant wants to shut down...

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Bercos Rajouri Garden. As a strict vegetarian, I specifically requested vegetarian food, yet they served me non-vegetarian items. This is a huge oversight, especially when dietary preferences or restrictions are clearly communicated.

To make matters worse, the food was stale and unappetizing. I expect fresh, quality meals when I dine out, and this was far from that. I’m not only dissatisfied with the food quality but also with the lack of attention to customer preferences.

This experience left me feeling disrespected and frustrated. I highly recommend caution before ordering from this place, especially for vegetarians. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the care and consideration customers deserve.
