So I called the restaurant at exactly 7:25 pm today for reservations to have dinner for 4 adults and a friendly lady happily confirmed the same saying it's done & no worries! All set we reached with my mother 87 yrs at appointed time & confirmed our reservations outside. We then walked into the restaurant and a young lady with short hair in grey uniform met us & when I informed her I have reservations for 4 adults she said we will have to sit outside! Shocked in disbelief at her casual remark I said it's very warm now so please find suitable place inside. She said she could join 2 round small tables. They looked very odd & so I requested seeing some empty tables but she said they are reserved. I got disturbed by her cold answers & pleaded that do you not think we should have been told that there was a problem initially only over phone to give us place inside. She said "no!" I was shocked at her rudeness. I said this is not expected of a fine dining restaurant to which she said this is not fine dining. Seeing helplessness in basic courtesy of the lady other staff members apparantly got alert and arranged a table inside as per our reservation and we sat comfortably in table four. We started with Caesar salad which was good. The margerita pizza was ok (the sauce was a bit tangy for my taste) but overall good. The prawns were ok. I must thank the lovely team in kitchen to give us a complimentary prawn since we were 4 & the dish had 3! The tirimasu was the star of the dinner. Prepared at table it was divine (, excellent). While we paid bill of ₹6555/- at end we thanked everyone who attended. Outside we saw the same rude lady in the lawn who clearly avoided to acknowledge our departure let alone offer any apologies! I wonder why such people even want to be in a hospitality business like a restaurant. She did spoil an otherwise good outing. I would be grateful if the owner can share remarks after ascertaining matter from all staff to his satisfaction. Food certainly tastes better with love & warmth and clearly it was the first thing which stung us. Must reiterate how all staff members were superb except for 1- who was our 1st contact...
Read moreTitle: Disappointing Dining Experience: Unhygienic Conditions
We recently dined at Camillos, and unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. Despite the hefty price tag attached to the menu items, the hygiene levels are poor. My friend asked for a small gin, however, we were charged for a large. When we informed them, the response received was that they informed us that it was a large (despite we asking for a small) while serving (we do not recall any such conversation. So basically the fault was ours!!
To make matters worse, during my meal, I was horrified to witness a rat scurrying across the floor of the restaurant. Not only was this a serious health hazard, but it also completely ruined any appetite we had left. Infact there was another diner at the restaurant who mentioned that a similar incident had occurred the last time they had visited the restaurant. Clearly goes to show that it is a recurrent concern that has not been addressed due to the callous attitude of the staff.
When we brought this issue to the attention of the manager, their response was shockingly apathetic. Instead of taking immediate action to rectify the situation or offering any form of apology, they simply shrugged it off as if it were a minor inconvenience.
Overall, our visit to Camillos was a disappointing and unsettling experience. I would strongly advise potential diners to reconsider spending their hard-earned money at an establishment that not only charges exorbitant prices but also fails to maintain basic...
Read moreThis newly open Italian restaurant had managed to get a google rating of 3.7 out of 10 reviews. I'm sure this would come down to less than 3 in no time. The lavishly laid tables in a nearly empty restaurant still embarrass me. At the outset, i did not find the food upto the mark. The burrata salad was horrible and the Pizza was cold by the time it reached the table. Even ordinary restaurants serving wood-fired oven pizza in Delhi do better. The outlet does not have license to serve liquor despite being located in Hotel Manor. So, if you are a solo customer, they will ask you to move to the bar in next door restaurant. But they have another trick down their sleeves. If you are a group of 5-6 people, they will serve alcohol in the restaurant even though they do not have the licence to do so. Lastly, their manager seems to be suffering from a skin disorder. I do not think it is safe for customers under such circumstances. Please visit at your own risk. My...
