My most favourite place in the Amar Colony colony, this gem of a joint is situated in the heart of the market, right next to Chowringhee Lane and Bang opposite Cafe Coffee Day. There's not much about the ambience per se - just a small counter outside the shop that takes care of the billing, and a small kitchen inside with various tandoors.

The most selling item here, and their USP, is their Tandoori Momos. I haven't ever had such gorgeous momos anywhere else! Beautiful, juicy, crispy, coated with the spicy marination and having that charred tandoori flavour, the momos are covered with butter and a delicious full-of-flavour creamy sauce that gives these momos the edge that they have. The chicken inside the momos is just spectacular! Not the usual roadside bad quality chicken which has more onions/random vegetables than the chicken content, but the actual nice yummy chicken that should be there. The momos are accompanied with 2 types of sauces - 1 is the patent red chilli sauce that comes with all the momos that you have possible had anywhere, and the other is the mint chutney that accompanies tandoori items usually. A third kind that they have is the garlic mayo which they only give if you ask for it. Nobody other than the regulars knows about this mayo, so they do miss out on something really really amazing! A;; these sauces are nothing short of brilliance, and no, I'm not exaggerating. :) They don't ignore their sauces because the momos are so nice, they give it equal importance. However, they won't give you extra sauces with the momos, you will have to pay for that. Their chicken momos are for Rs.110 per plate, the veg ones for Rs.90 per plate, and the shawarmas for Rs.50 per plate. Excellent excellent value for money! One plate of momos is my dinner - they're...

This is one of the most famous joints of Amar Colony for Momos.Their afgani tandoori momos are very popular among foodies, every now and then I keep seeing their posts on social media.

Earlier this month I thought to try them. The Afghani tandoori momos tasted good. The unique part is that instead of mayonnaise they used curd to marinate momos, which makes them the most authentic afgani momos. The taste of curd was overpowering Which made it quite different from the regular Afghani momos.

So my verdict would be it is worth trying but now let’s talk about the other factors which are also quite important. When the first time I tried their momos it was good in taste but while eating I saw a strand of hair in between, which made me feel really yucky as I almost had an entire plate. But since it was the first time I let go of it Considering Everyone has bad days and this was just an unfortunate event.Considering it their bad day I let go off the matter.

After much anticipation I thought the try their momos again for the 2nd time. This time when I had I again found a big strand of hair in one of momos. Now it’s about time that the outlet should be aware about what’s happening. They should Maintain basic hygiene levels at the kitchens.Proper clothing should be providing to chefs to curb such things.

Its disgusting to see such a renowned popular joint has such poor unhygienic working environment.I really had a pathetic experience and surely not going back ever.Taste is not the everything Hygiene also...

I tried the Kurkure Momos. It was amazingly crunchy, stuffing was fresh and quite tasty, chutneys were tangy, varied and perfectly spicy, serving per plate was decent and belly-filling. But prices were not upto the mark. You see, the item from the menu is charged including in mind the ambience, seating, service, amenities and over all eating experience. I get that people are rich now and can afford to spend, but, that doesn't mean we devalue our money now, do we ? There is no service, no seating arrangement, ambience is pathetic and streety and no basic amenities like a bloody sink to wash hands nor a Toilet. Cashier isnt decent rather arrogant. You have just two tables where you stand and eat, which is alongside the street and if its filled with people, you either wait or just hold the paper box with your food on hand. Which reminds me, no water to drink and wash and no plates. So, just a street food joint with amazing food but prices no less than a decent restaurant with basic amenities. 5 star for the food, minus 3 for not delivering what it is charging, again one grace star for the chef for...

So, after much hype, I finally tried their chicken tandoori momos and I also got a shawarma. The momos, they were quite filling according to the price but, really average and not worth the hype at all. The stuffing was very dry and difficult to chew and just very opposite of tender and juicy as it should've been. The marinade was good though but, all in all, not very good. It's a one time experience thing and that too just for the hype. The shawarma also was very mediocre. It had big chunks but lacked flavours and was very dry. So, that's something which you must completely avoid. The area around is not very clean. Limited seating and that too near huge dustbins and, not to mention, the large number of beggars. So, the verdict being, it was really not up to the hype and this place is very average and don't feel guilty while avoiding this the next time you visit Lajpat Nagar. There are better things to try than this.
