The Colony Bistro — Restaurant in Delhi

this was my third visit as i liked the place at first but this time it was worst. portion of peanut was too less comparatively to last time. black paint was coming out of bottom of peanut dish, might have been consumed by us. music was too loud. i requested them to bring down the volume and they did also. then their dj arrived and raised the volume higher. he was very rude and unprofessional too, in spite of telling them to keep volume low, they kept playing with that like they themselves were enjoying a party there. i asked for small spoons for peanuts which were dirty when came. when i complained about that, guy snatched it from my hand and tried to argue that it was clean. i asked them to just wash them again and not to wipe, i would do myself. i asked server about the veggies in pasta, he said that they do not put any though they did last time. on asking for chef, he said that he would add veggies. i urged to speak to pasta maker to put only broccoli and mushroom. when pasta arrived, pasta was cold and sauce was hot enough as if they just took out the pasta from fridge, tossed in sauce without immersing it in hot water. i asked server to put that in oven for two minutes and bring back. it was very yummy. i liked it but while digging in, i found that bottom was full of carrot, beans, baby corn etc though i asked not to put any veggies other than broccoli and mushroom. chili flakes were in wrong sprinkler. when i told them. same guy who argued on spoons, did same this time also and tried to sprinkle chili from that which could not happen. then he brought the right one and left. no apologies at all by anyone. at last, i ordered a waffle which took longer than expected so i left without having it but paid for. while being out of restaurant, on the way to my home, a person came with waffle packet but i had lost all interest in that and suggested him to have it from my side. i ordered waffle because my partner was craving for as their waffle maker was out of order on my last visit. I LITERALLY EXPERIENCED HELL AND FELT AS IF WE WALKED IN WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT AND THEY KEPT TRYING...

I got delivery from here and it was a terrible experience. I ordered pan fried noodles, fried rice, and blueberry cheesecake (I'll pretend like that was to get me over the 500 rps limit, but we all know that's not true). I got the rice and cheesecake because it was on the "popular dishes" list, so expectations were high, and I got the noodles because I was feeling hungover. The rice arrived, I kid you not, in a microwave pouch with sealed plastic cover that had been heated. It was literally a frozen microwave meal of fried rice, like you buy in the frozen aisle of a grocery store. In America we call this a TV dinner, and you would literally dump it on the chef's head if you found out that that's what your meal is. I double confirmed this because the "veggies" are teeny tiny little pieces of broccoli that are typical in frozen food meals, and triple confirmed this because the noodles were wrapped in foil and the veggie gravy was in a normal plastic container. The noodles were just white spaghetti fried in butter and the gravy was pretty mediocre. The worst part, though, was the blueberry cheesecake. I took a bite and immediately my stomach told me it was sour, but kept eating because I don't waste food, and each bite confirmed that it was sour and I was risking diarrhea (TMI? Sorry guys). Also, it took over an hour to arrive, which is way too long for a meal that was literally frozen and placed in the microwave. I'm only not giving it one star because the food did not...

The Colony Bistro. We all know what a bistro is. So we won't focus much on the bistro part and straight away start from the location. Located in a very specific area just near the Amar colony market in lajpat Nagar 4. Thanks to Zomato gold, for offering us the second round of drinks on the house. We had some traditional drinks, LIIT and Tequila Sunrise and had the second round free. Both the cocktails were so refreshing in taste and each flavour was inch perfect. Considering the ambience, this restaurant has some beautiful wall paintings, as well as some cosy seatings to make your lunch or dinner a very pleasant one. Service was upto the mark and the stewards were well educated about the food as well as the beverages. Considering the food, we didn't have much. We ordered basil chicken and golden fried prawn. We are not a big fan of prawns but this time, we really liked it. Prawns were perfectly fried and the marination that the prawns had was so buttery and crispy that we really loved it. Talking about the basil chicken, it was juicy as well as it had that basil flavour. Basically, whenver we eat a chicken, there is no flavour to it and all the flavour that it gets is from the marination. Marination had a wonderful flavour of basil, as well as some lime juice and seasonings. We had the best basil chicken so far in our quests. Kudos to the whole team of service as well as kitchen.
