Me and my family have been a big fan Indus Flavour from a long time especially since it is one those rare breed of restaurants which caters to vegetarian family audience. And they opened up in the new pacific mall at NSP which is even more near to my house and we couldn’t hold ourselves from checking them out though instead of the whole family, only me and my wife visited them for a dinner on a weekday.
We reached there around 8 PM on a Monday and the restaurant was buzzing. The location is a bit off as its on the roof of the pacific mall and you have to take a different elevator to reach there. But even then there was waiting going on a weekday, just imagine. The place is beautifully designed. The al fresco dining area looks gorgeous and has a boho vibe to it. Step inside and the ambience make you feel good. Highlight is definitely the bar and overall bright decor makes it look very pleasing to the eyes.
Coming to the food, we ordered “Avocado Papdi Chaat”, “Paneer Tikka Bao” & “Tandoori Momos” to start with. The tandoori momos were the best of the lot. There were two different topping options and they were kind enough to offer us a half n half option to try out the both. The avocado papdi chaat was very light and something different than the usual chaats that we are used to. The paneer tikka bao was loaded with nicely roasted paneer tikka which had a great smokey flavour to it.
Since we were quite full from our streak of appetisers, we opted for a main course combo which proved to be perfect for us in terms of quantity, though we still couldn’t finish it which shows how generous their portion sizes are especially compared to the price point of the dishes on their menu. From the multiple combo options available, we chose a Dal Indus combo with an add on of paneer lababdar and a couple of breads. The dal indus was fantastic and perfectly prepared the way we like it. The paneer lababdar was not too far from a normal paneer makhani which shouldn’t have been the case and we would have loved to have the original paneer lababdar which they can definitely work on. The breads served were piping hot and prepared using the instructions we passed on the server.
The service was top notch and even at full capacity on a weekday, the food reached the table quickly and the turnaround time of the tables wasn’t very high.
We have finally found a place to take our family out for a nice quite dinner without thinking twice if the place is appropriate for a family. Indus Flavour is one of those gems which are now a rarity in a city like Delhi where every restaurant aspires to be a night club or a cafe these days and no one wants to focus on fine dining....
Read moreMy family and my friends, who were visiting from Canada, went to visit pacific mall on Last Saturday, we all decided to go to Indus Flavour for dinner. It was 9 of us. After sitting down and having had few appetisers, we were really impressed with the quick service, delicious food and ambiance But when we ordered main course, which was Daal and Parathas only (Adults were full with appetisers itself). It took 25 mins for dinner to arrive and when it arrived, everything came cold and Daal had a dried layer on top, which clearly showed that the daal had been sitting under the heater for long. So we called our server and asked him to remake the food and make sure to make the breads fresh and NOT heat up the same bread. Even after the clear instructions, guess what happened, the same old breads came reheated and the daal as well. On top of it all server was trying to convince us that they had made new breads. (We manufacture Tandoors and I have been cooking on them for last 20 years. I can tell, what is reheated and what is fresh). Servers started telling each other that they should have brought the fresh food, after 8-10 min later they finally called the supervisor/manager at our table, he then offered us which fresh food, which was initially asked by us, but it took them 45 min to decide whether we would get fresh food or not. We denied the offer because we had been waiting for so long, the kids and the elderly were sleepy and irritated so we left. I am writing this review to get my message across to the management, that your servers must be empowered at least enough to take small decisions to avoid big issues and waste all the efforts made by the cooks and...
Read morePathetic service! We went there to celebrate my parent's anniversary. We were 13 people so we tried to book in advance but they said they have a "first come first serve" policy. So we went there and they told us that there is a half an hour wait. Since we were still waiting for others we decided to wait. After half an hour they still didn't call us. We tried to go somewhere else but they kept stopping us saying we're next and if we left they will remove our names from the wait list. They kept promising to give us a table in the next 5 to 7 minutes. After sitting there for a whole hour during which they sat around 30 to 40 more parties we again talked to them and they said that they had already told us that it would be atleast an hour wait in the first place. But still they will give us the table in 5 to 7 mins. Again after 10 minutes they told us that they had called us but we didn't come. They hadn't called in the first place. The whole party was there it was impossible that none of us would have heard them calling. They further lied by claiming that we had only put our name down a few minutes ago when we had actually been there for an hour. They had not written the time before and later they wrote a false one! Then they said we are going to have to wait another half hour. That is when we finally left. We would have left long ago had we not asked the whole party to come there. They didn't let us leave for more than an hour and didn't give a table either. If they didn't have a table... why not let us know in the first place? And why constantly lie about the timing. This is very poor service and management. Ruined an hour of our party. Never going back...
