IRCTC REFRESHMENT/ RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Delhi

Someone should say something about these eld refreshment rooms with a reputation for good food and how they have been turned into terrible eating places with sad staff and even sadder food.

There was a time when you could reliably go to a railway refreshment room for good, if not excellent food. That's why Railway Mutton Curry is a legendary dish at the Oberoi.

The prices are still FANTASTIC. But the food really needs more care.

The atmosphere is still FABULOUS because these places are mostly empty ! Unlike the garish food courts with processed foods.

Railway Refreshment Rooms still have their old potential. DO NOT DESTROY THEM.

IS ANYBODY LISTENING ?

Incidentally, only thalis/meals were available today. But I still prefer coming here than going to...

Poor air conditioning, overly stuffed, no cleanliness or hygeine. The place is a chaos. Seating is decent. There is no A la carte and the buffet is extremely average. A huge pass unless your waiting period is more than 3 hours. Or else just stay in the AC...

Consists of so many shops. Only one cash counter for all the shops. All varieties of food items available. Let it be chinese, south indian, water bottles, lassi, mixture and so many things. Even the rates are almost same as any other hotel...
