Reflecting on the history and the aura of the café Chef Rohit Negi said, “The Melt House basically started from Gurugram itself as an artisanal sandwich shop and then we have opened to big places having the speciality of cheese. There is the melted cheese concept we infuse in our dishes. Now, after we have all the totally cheesy flavours in our food, and we have differentiated it from any other restaurant you get on to. We have some Italian cuisine in it, and we have mixed it with cheese for the cheese lovers.”

Good things
Ambience wise it's an amazing place. The colours are warm and welcoming and it makes you feel relaxed. The colour palette is fun and quirky. Loved that. Feels a little too American but I like that.
Waiter took our order quickly. Was courteous and helpful. The oricchette pasta was awesome.
That's about the good things about this place.
Bad things.
We ordered mozzarella sticks. Which we got to know after almost 15 minutes of waiting that cheese wasn't there with them. So we had to order french fries.
Service was so slow and the reason for that is the cooking staff. There is no communication between cooking staff and the waiter and the waiter was at the end of recieving bad feedback for it.
We had to poke the waiter multiple times to get our order but what could he do. The fault lies with the chef.
The bread that came with the pasta looked like something from a store brought bread with store brought butter slapped on it and left it in the over for a little too long. It was just not what you expect from a proper restaurant at a place like GK.
We ordered lamb sandwich which came with a salad that none of knew how to take off the serving plate. It looked nice but it felt like it was not supposed to be eaten? The Sandwich itself was dry. Too much of bad tasting cheese which sucked away any moisture from the lamb making it dry and chewy. We couldn't have had more than a bite of it.
The Matilda cake. Oh god. Where do I begin. If you want a Matilda cake. Honestly, go to a bakery buy a chocolate cake. Dip it hot chocolate and then maybe add more chocolate and it would taste better than that cake. We had it because we were hungry but honestly it was not something I would expect from this place.
Overall impression..
If you're looking for good food like proper food that will make your taste buds feel good then pls avoid this place.
This place is for people who can settle for bad food with good ambience so that you can take picture of your bad food and sit there waiting your whole life but with a glass of water.
I apologise to the waiter for not paying service tax but I had to show my frustration somehow.
Ps. Not a fan of the pink cheese on fries. Looks good but somehow...
Read moreAmbiance - 8/10; they have two floors of seating, with the first floor done up really well with lamps and mirrors that gives an impression of space, and wooden furniture. Would have preferred to have cushions on the wooden chairs though. They also have an outdoor area and indoor seating on their second floor.
Service - 10/10; Their online menu is well designed, has a lot of options, and a visual treat. Would have loved to browse it physically. They also make vegan specific dishes. Our server, Dia, was extremely courteous and helpful with recommendations based on our preferences.
Food - 10/10; Animal Style Cheese Fries were served hot and crunchy, with the cheese sauce still steaming off the platter. The fries had the right amount of salt and crunch. Piri Piri Chicken Cheesesteak Grilled Cheese Sandwich - absolute delight to eat, flavourful and juicy. The cheese did not overwhelm other flavours, and the chicken was well cooked. Lamb Patty Melt with Hokkaido bun - the main reason I visited this establishment, and it did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious, this burger is an example of minimal ingredients but made really well. The patty was well done while retaining the juices, and the hokkaido buns' softness just slightly breaks the meatiness to allow one to enjoy the whole.
Drinks - 10/10; Mango Jalapeno Slushie was perfect for the hot summer day, with a hint of a kick from the jalapeno. Best part is it wasn't filled with crushed ice like slushies usually are. The Berry and Tonic Lemonade was another banger,...
