It has the vibe of an old-school watering hole, much like the 90s and early 2000s movies.
Being located inside a sector market, it's outreach is fairly limited which is probably why the prices need to be kept steep for an otherwise mainstream continental cuisine. It looks like a place reliant on a regular local clientele to remain functional, not something to satisfy an explorer. This isn't a place for cocktails or fancy cuisine, it's a place to catch-up over conversation.
Service: Curt and functional 4/5
Atmosphere: a place of drowning the night in gallons of liquor solo, not a place for blitzkreig. If it works, it works.
Food: Acceptable, relatively plebian but well-made, portions could be better: 4/5
Cutlery: old plates, very lightweight steel cutlery - will bend without much effort. Plastic tissues 1/5
Washroom: didn't use, is probably okay
One line summary: visit if you need to sit in quiet solitude or if you are going to have a long conversation with someone.
I would rather go to a discreet café however, provided there isn't a pressing urge to imbibe.
pricing: 800-1000 for one without liquor, add about 600 per drink for liquor (not a cocktail place)
Overall: 3.5/5
interestingly enough, the rounded off total was a few rupees higher than the price of items with taxes and charges. It didn't matter in my case but their billing system is potentially flawed and you might want to validate your bill thoroughly...

The ambiance is cosy & the cheerful & welcoming nature of the staff make it a very pleasant place. It has properly separated smoking and non smoking areas. As for food they have an elaborate menu that includes an assortment of Indian as well as Chinese dishes and I have found the preparation to be overall consistent. Its a nice place for lunch or dinner with family or to grab a quick drink after a...
Read moreAlthough their quality is questionable as they managed to whip up a bowl of chilli garlic noodles in less than ten minutes, I would recommend anybody in a hurry and in the vicinity looking for a sumptuous serving of Chinese to visit this place. The Orient Tavern has a strangely priced menu though. I distinctly remember some of their starters being similarly priced to their main course. For example, would I pay 200/- for a plate of dimsums as opposed to 60/- more for a bowl of chilli garlic noodles?...
