To feel an entire gamut of emotions that food can bring out, you need to have dined at Plats. Every mouthful is a discovery in itself and with each additional mouthful you discover another hidden gem either in texture or flavor. I’ve had the privilege of eating at many a fine restaurants in different part of the world and plats stands out for so many reasons. Nothing that was served disappointed. Every dish was magnificently crafted, the sauces blended perfectly with the meat or vegetable that was served and the plates of food that were served looked stunning. Plats is a winner on so many levels but, their greatest advantage is in the multitude of sauces they have created— smacking delicious.
The shroom buns seem to be everyone’s favorite . I saw a platter of these heavenly Crusty buns on every table and everyone looked like they were in food heaven with just one bite. An absolute must try.
I detest broccoli but, my friend insisted I try the charred young broccoli and I must say I was shocked at how I enjoyed it. This dish bursts with flavors and if you have me relish broccoli then in my eyes your a winner.
The absolute winner according to me was the shrimp and chicken stuffed wing closely followed by the prawn and calamari al’a plancha. MVP stuff!
Smoked pork and chorizo dumpling has me swaying with different bursts of flavors and the burrata just took it home.
For mains we had the braised and pulled lamb crumbed steak. I’m not a fan of lamb but, like everything these brilliant chefs served this was also life altering. The lamb was tender and filled with flavor and the crust was outstanding.
The passion fruit tres leches was light, airy and delicious and the perfect end to a fabulous evening.
Plats is minimalist yet classy. Non fussy yet fabulous and most importantly affordable.
Kudos to chef’s Jamsheed and Hanisha. If I could kiss your hands I would.
I am in Delhi for 2 days and I’ve eaten here twice. That...
Read moreOverrated I went on date, after reading the reviews, hoping for some nice food experience and vibe. However, we were disappointed with the food they served.
We ordered - Chicken Chiang Mai Curried Noodles, something experimental and Chat Grilled Double Lamb Burger and Special Cold Coffee to be on safe side.
Burger - The burger was just fine, albeit not worth 600+ INR. There was something missing. I have recently discovered Ace Burgers in town and tbh, it has the best burgers and you are charging so much, please make worth it. Hence the 2 stars.
Noodles - The noodles was something new for us, however I would never recommend it to anyone. My date got food poisoning after having that. It had a different sort of taste, the curry was thin and noodles weren't properly cooked. Not sure if it is supposed to be like that. The chicken and egg in it didn't seem fresh. Plus we got to know they do not use butter, but refined oil. I mean why!!!! I am a fan of butter and ghee. I have been to European restaurants where they strictly use good quality butter and the food tastes rich. Again, if you are asking for that much of money, please add quality to your food.
Cold coffee - Okay what can get wrong in a basic cold coffee? Well the blended drink didn't have icecream. Aren't you supposed to blend icecream in it? Correct me if I am wrong. Also it didn't seem, it had milk even. It was watery and tasteless. I mean, a basic cold coffee which can never go wrong
I am not sure why people would rate you so high or probably I ain't aware of what I should be ordering in a European food place but that much of money wasn't worth it. It is highly overrated place. Also, please don't get fooled by the pictures. Please do some research on what you should be eating here...
Read moreEach and every dish was finger licking good! Haha.
This place has been on our list for over a year but I have been traveling and never got to it. I live right next to it so this time when I was in town, we went right away! Luckily without reservation, we (4) went at 9pm and waited only 30 mins (Wednesday)! There were people who came in group of 2 or 3 who didn’t have to wait so not bad!
Food: My favorites were Cottage cheese steak and spinach and cheese ravioli! Rest well ordered were orechetto, broccoli charred, and truffle focaccia which were extremely yumm too! In my second time also loved their middle eastern white dip with pumpkin. And pumpkin soup and veg risotto was Mind blowing.
Drinks: We all also liked our drinks! Crimson haze, old fashioned, berry kombucha, lemonade. Plats G&T. Between crimson haze and old fashion, I liked crimson haze more! I’m a 100% whiskey and classic old fashion person but even though it was good, the haze was better and so was the Plats G&T.
Desserts: We ordered tiramisu in the end which was ok. I’m a big fan of crepe cake and tiramisu. I liked the strong coffee flavor but it was not the best crepe (I have only had crepe cake once before in Lady M New York so the bench mark is high). Their Tres Leche was tasted like a mixture of rasmalai and rasgulla (different from what I was hoping for). Would love to keep going there for their food but not a big fan of their desserts!
We paid 6500 in total for 4 of us which I think is great for this kind of place! Overall highly recommend this place!!! I’m sure everything on their menu...
