Our recent experience at this restaurant left us deeply disappointed and disheartened. While the food might be passable and the ambiance somewhat pleasant, these aspects were completely overshadowed by the shockingly discriminatory behavior of the restaurant manager, Mr. Shantanu. Our group of five, which also included four highly accomplished professionals who happen to be visually impaired, had met face-to-face with Mr Shantanu two days prior to our lunch, taken the precaution of informing the restaurant about our specific needs in advance. Despite this, Mr. Shantanu's conduct towards us was nothing short of appalling. From the moment we arrived, he spoke to us in a condescending and dismissive tone, as if our presence was an inconvenience. Throughout the meal, he continued to treat us with utter disrespect. He raised his voice at us, scolded us like children, and made us feel unwelcome and unwanted. Imagine being talked down to and patronized, despite being successful individuals who contribute meaningfully to society. It was a humiliating and deeply upsetting experience. Mr. Shantanu's actions were not only unprofessional but also discriminatory. His behavior clearly indicated a lack of understanding and empathy towards individuals with disabilities. We were made to feel as if we were less deserving of respect and consideration simply because we have different needs. We cannot, in good conscience, recommend Suribachi to anyone who values inclusivity and respect for all. We urge the restaurant's management to take immediate action to address this issue. Mr. Shantanu's behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole. No one deserves to be subjected to such blatant discrimination. We also call on fellow diners to be mindful of such establishments and choose places that genuinely value diversity and inclusivity.
