Sandoz BBQ - Janakpuri — Restaurant in Delhi

I went for a dinner last evening with my family and friends at Sandoz Bbq janakpuri on my son's bday with so much expectation that Sandoz is known for their super delicious tasty food but all our expectations were shattered as we started chasing their staff who kept us wait for 15min for them to start the BBQ. Anyways we ignored the service initially considering food is definitely going to make up for it but we were completely wrong as we started eating starters. All of them were very average in taste and all my family members started rasing questions on their food taste. As we moved further they kept waiting us for Mocktails for 15-20min again and we were getting irritated and started chasing Manager who ensured it will be taken care asap. But after sometime again the same story, as we moved to Main course they kept us waiting for breads for 10min again and we again started chasing Manager to show them how bad the service is. Unfortunately the quality of Main course food in Veg Buffet was not good either which was never the case ever in the past as my family has been a regular visitor to this place for many years. Deserts were ok (neither too bad nor too good) but certainly they are not using good quality ice cream now as we know their original ice cream taste which they used to serve earlier. Their Gala night was the only thing which was good and kept us wait for food with much patience otherwise family members were getting annoyed with their poor service and below average food. At last, the only thing where staff was very prompt was at the time of billing and we all cracked a joke to lighten the mood.

So all in all a very very bad experience on my son's birthday (3rd May'24) where all our expectations went in vain. Not recommending Sandoz BBQ...

I visited the restaurant with a booking for the 6:30–9:00 PM slot. We arrived at 6:15, but the starters only began coming out after 6:50. Before that, only golgappas were available. The variety of items was far less than expected, especially compared to other places like Absolute Barbeque and Barbeque Times. The barbecue options were also very average in taste.

When we requested paneer momos, we were served veg momos instead, which we didn’t like, and they went to waste. Things got worse when we moved on to the main course. Most items were unavailable initially, with only dal, rice, and chow mein ready. For non-vegetarian options, nothing was available at the time. We had to check 3–4 times to see if the full menu was prepared. Due to these delays, the main course wasn’t fully ready until around 8:30, which caused us to fall behind schedule.

To make matters worse, the manager approached us and said, “Your time is up. How much longer will you take?” even though we had barely finished our sweets after the delayed main course. When I explained to the waiter that the delay was because of their service, he relayed the message to the manager. However, we overheard the manager saying, “The menu has been ready for over an hour,” which was completely untrue. When we took ice cream and added tutti frutti, we noticed a dead mosquito in it, which was extremely unhygienic and unacceptable.

Due to this experience, I will never visit this place again and will not recommend anyone to waste their special day here. I don’t know why Karan Dua promoted this place—honestly, there is nothing good about it. Copy of BBQ Nation with much worse services, quality of food and staff. Manager is rude, not customer centric and he is the worst part about this experience. Staff is pathetic and harasses guests for more money separately. Food and ambiance is not good. They changed the pre decided and discussed pricing of a child saying he is 2 months older than 9 years at the time of arriving in the restaurant with the guests. You must ask for exact written details when booking. They will also increase the price of each guest and remove drinks if you ask them to pay via EasyDiner app. The manager and staff was rude and the uniforms didn't seem clean. The hall doesn't feel spacious on a weekend night when live music is playing aa you can't even hear the person sitring just infront of you due to music. They have tried to copy BBQ Nation, but even the food is not good in terms of taste, variety and quality. They charge the similar pricing if not more than a BBQ Nation with much worse Ambiance.

The manager seemed very rude and disrespectful, short sighted and not at all customer focussed. Threatning to remove pre discussed drinks was very sudden when your guests have already arrived.

Everyone from the staff will ask and even harass your guests for extra money even after such a bad experience, like waiters, security guard, vallet parking guy and both bouncers. They all want money from you separately even though are standing next to each other we asked for help from onky the vallet guy, who we had already paid separately.

Don't waste your time and money on this, if you are already in Janakpuri, just go ahead with BBQ Nation in Unity Mall, or go with Pirates Grill in Rajouri Garden, everything is...
