First foremost. By the star rating u wud ve got the hint ...but still just read... This restaurant is a high end restaurant...well if it in defence colony. . Delhi..then yes of course I need not say further.. Located in a posh locality that caters to high class ppl... With high expectations I had gone there. But to my surprise..disappointed. yes disappointed... I am a South indian..age 43. Male. Defence offr. And I must say that I ve roamed around this country by virtue of my job..so I know the true taste of food...n I m a foodie...sss Ordered malabar parotta...ring parotta.. It was as if it was bought off the shelf and heated on a pan n served.. it was not soft. N fresh definitely...I m a mallu ...bhai..I know what parotta is.. Dish ... mutton varuval dry ..it is a typical tamil name ..it is suppose to be dry .but it was with onion garlic and other masala..and no south indian taste Etal...it was I wud say tasteless. ..I Don know what ro comment on this.. 4 next chicken andhra...again it was bland....chicken piece also like it was old.. A very important point. I went on a Tuesday I am not sure whether Tuesday ar like thus. I asked the staff...what is the name of the chef....after a pause...he uttered rajan... Sounds south indian...but I m sure he was lying..

For those who r big fan of swagath ...this review is not for u. .disregard.. But for those south Indians or ppl who love south indian food...this is the true review.. Yes I know with grt difficulty and years of hard work they wud earned this name n repute but sorry.. Totally big big large ...disappointment....

Shall never rec this to...

Beautiful North Indian food option located in the def col market offering amazing food with great ambience.

Went there for a Sunday lunch and loved everything they had to offer. The food was delicious with huge portion size and very authentic preparation. I liked the following -

Crispy Veg - never had such crispy veggies before. It can beat the best authentic Chinese restaurant too. Flavourful and crispy. It's a must try if you love Chinese food.

Paneer Lababdar - very creamy and silky gravy with mild spices and good quantity of paneer.

Breads - Although the breads were good but I found Naan to be little undercooked and the soft dough was visible. It could have been better to toast it little more. Tandoori Rotis and paratha was really good and well toasted.

Mocktails - really soothing and refreshing and a must try in this heat.

The ambience of the place is really comfortable and its always packed and waiting. Make sure you book with them in advance for a...

I broke my own rule of never dining in a restaurant that claims to serve authentic Chinese, South Indian and Continental on the same menu. We ofcourse went for the South Indian cuisine - the chicken 65 was passable, the Malabari chicken was almost leaking oil, the vegetable stew with appams was barely edible and the overpriced Swagath Special lobster was a ridiculous mish-mash of Indian spices with absolutely tasteless lobster thrown in. The only thing that passed the test were the fluffy neer dosas. Needless to say, this joint is managing to operate from the second floor of a building that has technically been sealed by the city municipal corporation - so the windows are blacked out with paint and the seating is cramped and dingy - I almost felt like a lobster in a cage myself.

Needless to say, if you're looking for an authentic South Indian experience (albeit veg), head to Swagath's cousin - Sagar Ratna - located in the same market. Tastier, cheaper,...

Hey, Recently had the pleasure of dining at Swagth Restaurant in Defence Colony, Delhi, and I was thoroughly impressed by the authentic South Indian flavors they offered. One of the highlights of my meal was the Ghee Roast. The thick masala consistency and subtle heat were a perfect balance of flavors. The Chilli Chicken was a delightful fusion of Indian and Chinese cuisines, offering a unique and satisfying taste. The Chicken Sukka was another standout dish, showcasing the true essence of South Indian cooking. The Chicken Ghassi paired wonderfully with the Malabar Paratha, creating a harmonious combination of textures and tastes. While the Chicken Kari Patta was similar to the Ghee Roast, it still managed to offer a distinct flavor profile. Overall, Swagth Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic South Indian cuisine in Delhi. Their commitment to quality ingredients and traditional cooking techniques shines through in every dish.

The Defence Colony property is one of the oldest under Swagath Chain and is renowned for its sumptuous and delicious cuisines of Coastal Karnataka and Kerala in particular. Strategically located in the main shopping Hub of defence Colony over looking Moets on the other side, it is a 2 floors spacious restaurant to gorge on delightful and spicy yet tasty food ! They also have a bar attached which makes things interesting in this sit down diner People are attentive and very courteous and ready to help you. Prices are slightly on the higher side but you get speciality South Indian coastal cuisine in very few places in Delhi and that kind of squares it off. Over all it is a tasty trip for sure :-)

I am writing to share my recent experience at your restaurant. I traveled from Noida to Delhi specifically to dine at your establishment, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed. We ordered mutton seekh kabab as a starter and a main course. The kabab was served hot on the outside but cold on the inside. Additionally, each time we requested roti or naan, it took between 15 to 20 minutes to be served. I also found the staff to be largely unprofessional and aggressive, with the exception of the calm individual at the main counter on the ground floor. Overall, I would not recommend your restaurant based on this experience. Regards, Sahil verma
