A Day of Art, Love, and Food at The Palette – My Visit to Dhan Mill Compound

Valentine’s month is here, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a day with a loved one than immersing myself in creativity and delicious food. This past weekend, I visited The Palette, an art-themed café tucked away in the vibrant Dhan Mill Compound in Chhatarpur, Delhi. It was a unique experience that blended art, food, and ambiance, creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable day.

A Valentine’s Escape to Dhan Mill Compound

The Dhan Mill Compound is always buzzing with energy. It’s a haven for shopaholics, foodies, and artists alike, and its eclectic charm makes it one of my favorite spots in the city. Amid this vibrant setting lies The Palette, an artsy café that stands out for its tranquil vibe and creative offerings.

Walking into the café felt like entering an artist’s sanctuary. With its pastel tones, wooden accents, and swing chairs, the aesthetic instantly puts you at ease. The café is spread across two cozy floors, providing plenty of space to relax, unwind, and explore your creative side.

Channeling My Inner Van Gogh

The highlight of The Palette is its art-inspired experience. They provide canvases, paints, and brushes so you can dive into a painting session right there at the café. Whether you're an art enthusiast or someone just looking to try something new, this activity is an absolute treat.

I spent hours channeling my inner Van Gogh, painting whatever came to mind, while sipping on a refreshing mocktail. It was therapeutic and a refreshing change from the usual café outings. If you’re looking to bond with your partner, friends, or even yourself, this is the place to be.

A Feast for the Taste Buds

Art aside, the food at The Palette is equally delightful. Their menu offers a mix of comforting classics and innovative dishes. Here’s what I tried:

Spaghetti Aglio Olio: Perfectly cooked spaghetti tossed in olive oil, roasted garlic, and crushed chili flakes. Simple, flavorful, and oh-so-satisfying.

Tandoori Chicken Fresh Dough Pizza: A unique twist on pizza, topped with spicy tandoori chicken, tandoori capsicum, and roasted chilies. It was a fiery burst of flavors that I couldn’t get enough of.

Chilly Garlic Prawns: Juicy prawns cooked in extra virgin olive oil with just the right amount of heat and garlic – an absolute must-try.

The café’s mocktails and shakes were equally impressive, making it easy to spend hours enjoying the food and atmosphere.

Why You Should Visit The Palette

If you’re looking for a cozy and creative spot to celebrate Valentine’s Day or simply spend quality time with loved ones, The Palette is the place to be. It’s more than just a café – it’s an experience. Whether you want to channel your inner Picasso, enjoy a hearty meal, or simply soak in the calming ambiance, this quaint eatery in Dhan Mill Compound has something for everyone.

So, the next time you’re in the mood for an artsy date or a creative day out, head to The Palette. Paint your world in vibrant hues, indulge in delicious food, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Trust me, you’ll leave with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a masterpiece...

Mr Ashish showed us our table, told us there is a party planned in an hour so if we are not complete with our painting wr can move to another floor (Pallette area) but we can finish our food and painting (to make sure we dont leave). The moment one hour got over we were served with our bill, nobody asked us, our food was still hot and not over, when i asked him can we move to that floor now - He declined that he never gave that option. Felt so bad, our painting incomplete, our food still in our plates. Thats such a bad example of customer service I hav been a regular here and some of my friends, dont go now please there arere multiple customer friendly cafes around. This place has lost its mark. Thank you Ashish for the last wonderful experience in The Pallette.

Replying from response recieved from Team Pallette: Thank you for bringing in the facts, i really wish they were all true, let me highlight a few things before you reply with another one aided response: I booked a table via zomato/district and i did not have to wait for a table (please check my reservation) My pizza slices were cold/mildly hot or my pasta bowl was half full thats something which concerns me My concern was we were specifically told that if WE ARE NOT FINISHED BY 7 (BY WHEN YOUR GUESTS ARE ARRIVING) WE WOULD BE PLACED SOMEWHERE ON A DIFF FLOOR PROBABLY SO WE CAN COMPLETE - i have no time nor dedication to write a review like this until i have had a bad experience that to at a place i loved going too.. rather than being defensive try and be open to feedback .. i am glad u did not mention how many slices of pizza and pieces of pastas were remaining.. and in the end a simple No sir we will not entertain you after 7 would have sufficed rather than lying about it to secure some bills until a bigger group walks in .. Deceiving and then giving such bad explanation over my feedback is the problem.. now i will make sure that me and my friend report this not just on google but on other social media platforms and i would love to have your similar respose there too. Lastly i did not assume, i did not even know there was a difference floor - Not sure these are from real owner/ream of pallette or Ashish is it you writing responses. Why would your customer assume he will be seated on a different floor.. do you...

The Pallete, Dhan Mill

Stepping into The Pallete at Dhan Mill feels like walking into a creative sanctuary—where art, ambience, and indulgence come together effortlessly. The vibe is warm, boho-chic, and thoughtfully curated to spark inspiration. Fairy lights, rustic textures, and splashes of color make the space both cozy and vibrant—perfect for an afternoon of unwinding.

The painting session was an absolute highlight. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just dabbling for fun, the setup is welcoming and pressure-free. They provide everything you need—canvases, paints, brushes—and the atmosphere gently nudges you to explore your creativity. What makes it even more special is how relaxed it all feels, like painting in a friend’s sunlit studio.

Now let’s talk food. The menu doesn’t just play a supporting role—it’s a star in its own right. From gourmet flatbreads and flavorful pasta to decadent desserts, every bite is crafted with care. The drinks menu is equally impressive, with refreshing mocktails, artisanal coffee, and a few boozy options if you’re in the mood.

The Pallete isn’t just a café or an art studio—it’s a whole experience. Whether you’re going solo, on a date, or with friends, it’s a beautiful escape from the everyday. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a little color with...

Went to this cafe twice. Its a small cafe. Rhe 1st time we went late in the evening. It was a weekday hence there was no crowd. It was empty. They did not charge for the easel nd communicated that they will give it complimentary even the next time. We had bruschetta. The 1st one served was overdone nd burnt. they replaced it. Coffees were ok both hot and cold. Service was damn slow. Took almost 30 minutes to get bruschetta nd that too when there were no guests. The second time we went during evening on a weekend. We straight walked in nd got a table. No one stopped us. Once we were comfortably seated we asked forc water, which never got served until 20 minutes that too 2 glasses for 3 guests. Then the manager walks to the table and asks us to get up & vacate stating that there is a waiting. This was too much. She kept on debating & arguing. But this is not service nd professionalism. There shud be someone at the entrance to communicate & put us on waiting list, while there was none. After much argument she left then forced to pay Rs 200 for the easel, which otherwise was committed to be complimentary. The food got served in 30 minutes. The sandwhich was average but expensive. Its not worth the money.

The Palette, as depicted by the name of this cafe, where you can draw and paint while eating food, is located in Dhan Mill Compound, Chattarpur. It's an art-themed cafe that proposes European delights for you to gulp. It's a fantastic spot to snatch a bite! Now let's discuss the details : - Each canvas costs ₹200 and has infinite color palettes. - There aren’t several varieties of different food i.e. non-veg and veg both options are available in soups pasta pizza salad and others. - Indoor and outdoor both sittings are obtainable - The managers were polite, the service was adequate and the ambiance was gorgeous. - The nearest metro station is Qutub Minar(Yellow line), you can take a direct rickshaw or auto from the restaurant to the metro stations. - we have ordered a few things mentioned below - 1) Grilled Vegetable Sandwich - 360/- (4 pieces) 2) Classic Margarita Pizza - 510/- 3) fresh mint and green apple mojito - 230/- 4) kiwi and Elderflower - 250/- Sandwiches were ok but pizza was a game changer it was full of cheese. The drinks were fine too. So overall the main attraction is canvas and paint. You should visit there if you love to color.
