I recently went to Unity One mall to do some shopping. I was coming out of Decathlon when I saw a restaurant with a really pretty ambience on the second floor. From whatever I could see being on the first floor, i wanted to try this place. And I am so glad I did.
As I entered, I fell in love with how the place has been done. The exterior wooden frame painted in dark green. The restaurant is HUGE and EXTREMELY SPACIOUS.
It really gave the feel of a luxury restaurant. The cupboards were done in raw wood texture with antique handles. The sofa and sofa chair seating was extremely cushiony and comfortable.
The place is divided in two parts, they differ in their seating chairs and tables. One of the walls was decorated with fake leaves and it looked really beautiful. Pop of green brought the whole restaurant to life. Some walls had some really cool graffiti art done on them.
I would give a whopping 10/5 for the ambience and decor. That's how much I loved it.
The staff was warm and innocent.
Talking about the food I had:
To begin with, their food quantity is great and the price was decent too. All their crockery- serving bowls and plates were of ceramic with an orange colour antique texture, which I personally liked a lot.
Crispy Honey Chilli Potato:
If you have been reading my reviews, you would know how much I love chilli potato. I always try to taste them of as many places I can. Here, they were very crispy and tasty. The quantity was amazing and they were presented in a boat shape ceramic plate with an antique texture on it. Even their plates were like that, which was amazing.
5/5 for sure.
Veg Manchurian Gravy:
Again, quantity was great. Manchurian balls were a little big but tasted good. It had a hint of smokiness, but not too much. 5/5
Veg Fried Rice:
Rice were fresh and filling. Accompanied with Gravy Manchurian, it tasted nice and made for a good lunch. 4/5.
We had our lunch with a Coke and a Fanta. We asked them to pack the leftover food and they were sweet enough to pack it for us in spill-safe plastic containers.
I would give this place a definite 5/5. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to each one of you who reads this review and to my friends and family for sure.
It's a great place for a family dinner or get-together. I will be going here...
Read moreThe restaurant is conveniently located below the Kaushambi metro station, right next to Dominos. We went there for a family dinner today.
Food - We ordered Mix Veg Platter sizzler, Paneer Lababdar, Malai Kofta, Mix Vegetable, Boondi Raita. In breads, we tried tandoori rotis, churchur parantha, lachchha parantha. We also ordered few mocktails, one was mango based , another was orange juice based called Cinderella and lastly there was one with some passion fruit & pineapple. The Platter, as well as the main course was good, if not great - typical north Indian preparation, so there's nothing to complain. Raita was really tasty and thick. Churchur parantha needs special mention, as we really liked it. The drinks however were a complete let down. The one with mango base had ice cream as well, and when the ice cream meltand got mixed with the drink, it tasted awful. The orange mocktail tasted like plain Tropicana orange juice, there was nothing in there to call it a mocktail. I would advise you to avoid the mocktails or choose a safer fizz based option like Virgin Mojito.
Ambience - The ambience is pretty decent. The seating is comfortable, but the tables are too small for 4 people. We had to send back the bread plates because there was no space on the table! Secondly, tables should have proper table linen, instead of two strips of polyester cloth laid across the table. Also, please switch to white cotton napkins instead of the black polyester ones. These don't absorb any liquid readily, and we don't even know if the napkin is clean or dirty, since it's black!
Service: No complaints here, servers are prompt. We got the food well in time, we weren't in a hurry anyway. They would serve the food as well.
To sum up, it's your typical North Indian restaurant in the neighborhood, aspiring to be a fine dining place. But before it gets there, it needs to improve in some areas mentioned above. I would recommend the place for a...
Read moreI view Green Leaf as extended part of legacy and understanding of business with a tinge of premium services in a better setting. Green Leaf is a wonderful initiative by family members who operate Maini Restaurant, a pure vegetarian restaurant, which is located in A-Block of Surya Nagar, Ghaziabad. Green Leaf is backed by experience of more than two decades of being into the restaurant business and running it successfully. It follows the imprints of Maini Restaurant and serves pure quality vegetarian meals.
It is located under Kaushambi Metro Station and has neighbours like McDonalds, Mr. Brown and a South Indian restaurant (I don't remember the name clearly), but Green Leaf stands tall and has created a niché for itself due to amazing food, friendly staff offering prompt services in a friendly fashion, great settings and ambience.
We have celebrated several wonderful occasions there and it was always a delightful experience to dine-in there. Be it lunch or dinner, the meals are enjoyable and the time spent is incredible. The accessibility and parking space are no problem at all. However, during weekends and holidays, grabbing a place is a challenge and the long queue outside the restaurant clearly indicates its popularity.
We all love their appetizers, snacks especially Honey Chilli Potato, tandoori platter, North Indian delicacies and desserts. We have tried almost every delicacy and the preparation, presentation, freshness and taste made us say 'Wow' after every morsel.
They charge a premium, but what they offer is no common, hence the charges are totally justified. They accept payments in cash and via debit/credit cards as well.
It is a fine dine-in experience one shall and must not miss if in...
