How many times have we said to our friends in Goa "Coppak bosya mare?" And the reply is always "bosya mare. Khai melta?" If you don't have an answer to that the next time, then this place @antonioat31 nestled in the old quarters of Sao Tome on 31 de Janeiro streets is definitely a place to visit. This place with it's austere decor and that jazzy music playing in the background, is definitely a dedication to old vibrant 31 de janeiro streets of Panjim. So the first thing you have to know about this place is that it opens up at 5pm when our plans of grabbing a drink bears a fruit. And true to its tagline 'coppos and tapas', this joint serves some really unique cocktails and some traditional Goan small plate dishes with a slight hint of modern touch.
We had their Beef chilly fry & Chilli glazed prawns served with Goan Poi which were absolutely flavourful and probably the 2 dishes I'll recommend to anyone aho goes there. We also had their yummy and cheesy truffled mushroom rissois and prawn rechead stuffed in baby squids which was probably the only disappointment.
They have these wonderfully curated cocktails and we decided to try two of those with some boiled bhingtas - 'Bimbli gin sour' and 'Atta magir' which is basically vodka, rum, tequila, gin, lime and coke... basically you'll have couple of this if the plan is atta magir direct chandrar😜
But overall a great experience, especially the vibe this place gives and hopefully will give it another visit for their Ross omlet and...
Read moreAntonio in Fontainhas, Panaji is an Instagram dream, but the overall experience was a bit of a mixed bag.
The location is undeniably charming—tucked in the heart of old town Fontainhas, just a short walk from the Immaculate Conception Church—ideal for your photo ops.
We dropped by during the lazy hours (around 4:30–5 PM), so slower service was expected. Still, it felt a bit too relaxed for the price point.
What we tried:
• Salted Tongue Tacos: Good filling, but the taco shell lacked freshness.
• Crab Poppers: Pretty good—flavorful and satisfying.
• Garlic Poe: Too crunchy for our liking—bordering on hard.
Drinks:
• Wanted to try the Ola Picante, but they were out of coriander (!).
• Smoked Pineapple Margarita was tasty but weak on alcohol.
• Watermelon Fizz was okay—nothing special.
We get that Antonio is probably best experienced at a livelier hour, so we won’t comment on the vibe—but honestly, the portion sizes, quality, and service didn’t feel worth the premium pricing.
Washroom: 2/5. There was one lady constantly cleaning while others walked all over the mess. No tissues, no toilet paper, and a dingy loo.
Overall: Beautiful spot, but feels more like you’re paying for the location than the...
Read moreAntonio@31 never fails to impress me! Of all the times iv been here, tonight was one to remember… met up with two of my very close friends after a good year and a half for a quick dinner and drinks… a wonderful experience it was🙃❤️
Kudos to Mr. Phurpu Tashi for his exemplary service! He walked up to the table with a smile and ensured all our needs were catered to, until the very end of our dinner meet up…. His suggestions were delicious and lip smacking, hot from the kitchen!
A must have - Old Fashioned, Tamarind Whiskey Sour! My two favourite of all the cocktails…. Dont miss out on the classic Goan Fries(Sweet Potato Fries)…
The food selection is nice and small, quick bites to full hearty meals.
A suggestion though, please keep the ros omelette in its classic of forms and a little improvement to the gravy, the thick rectangular chunk does become a little difficult to eat🫠
Overall, the ambiance, the vibe, the decor and ofcourse the music, one place that does not play new age rubbish pop music, instead has a great selection of the late 90s to the early 2000s, Bob Marley, Cher and Dido to name a few❤️
For those who have not visited yet, do give this place a try, trust me you will leave with memories...
