BABA'S LITTLE ITALY BAR AND RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Goa

Whenever you are on a roadtrip or vacation you always strive hard to save money and get the best service and food possible. I too do the same but I am a bit of a extravagant spender who specifically splurge on Good quality food. Babas Little Italy located near the beach in Palolem is one such place where I was drooling when I saw the menu and the fresh seafood which was kept outside ready to be made on orders. This place serves alcohol but no pork and beef is served here. It is quite hard to find a place in palolem which does not serve pork. As I am a muslim I did not order meat like chicken or mutton as I was a bit sceptical about it being halal or not. So ordered seafood directly. The pictures are actually worth a Thousand words here as I was flabbergasted by the fresh taste of seafood. The best dish obviously was Sukka Mud Crab Xacuti style local goan spices were used and as soon as I cracked the shell juice were running out of it which tasted sumptuous. And evey dish had it's own distinct flavour and was made with love and care. My best regards to the chef and the owner to make my trip Palolem trip successful. This place is a must visit...

before i praise their lovely food, "5 stars" for the staff.. there are 2-3 guys and 1 girl for food service, 2 cooks over the tandoor side, other cooks inside the kitchen and 1 girl over the counter near the Bar who is always on the phone.. the food service people are working tirelessly and with great speed.. very friendly and attentive.. they are constantly moving which you will notice easily..

coming to the food.. we had dinner here 3 times in our 3 nights stay in Palolem.. so that should tell you that the food is simply great.. their menu is vast with mouth watering options.. i wanted to try the fish here but i was blown away with the chicken dish on the first night.. i continued the tradition for the next 2 nights.. the butter rotis are 100% wheat and soft.. the veg dishes are tasty..

Night 3: Chicken ala Kiev / Butter Roti with Panner Butter Masala

Chicken ala Kiev must be shared as the dish is huge with lot of cheese in the chicken.. very tasty though..

Underwhelming dinner here. About 6:30pm and we were the only people here. Staff were incapable. No smiles, no hello, just pointed to a table with a grunt. Didn't understand English very well so was extremely hard to communicate our simple order. Poor service. Wait time was long for being the only people in here. Staff sat on their phones instead of being of service and attentive. We had our finished plates sitting there the entire night, even once they brought out dessert they literally moved the dirty finished plate over instead of taking it. Pizza was not too bad, but lamb goulash was super garliccy. Garlic in the goulash, garlic through the veg and wayyy too much garlic in the mash. I couldn't eat it. Sizzling brownies - cool concept but executed poorly - it made it all taste burnt as it was sizzling/boiling away and the ice cream was melted before it got to us. Not worth the price for this sloppy...
