Barbeque Nation - Caculo Mall, Panaji — Restaurant in Goa

I chose Barbeque Nation at the Panjim mall for a small family birthday dinner, hoping my kids could enjoy the staff’s lively celebrations. While the ambience remains familiar, the place now feels a bit worn out and in need of refurbishment.

The servers were polite and tried their best to accommodate our needs, but sadly, the food fell far short of expectations. The chaat served at the start was decent, but everything else on the skewers was bland. Even the malai items brought for the kids, meant to be non-spicy, lacked flavor, with the only difference being their white color. When I requested skewers with more spice, they were slightly better but still not at the level one would expect.

The main course didn’t fare any better, lacking both appealing presentation and taste. I sampled a few pastries from the dessert section, only to find them stale. The server hesitated to assist at the kulfi section—a highlight in the past—but eventually came after some prompting. The chocolate kulfi served was stale and that was the tipping point for me.

Disappointed and unwilling to waste more time, I decided to share my concerns with the manager before paying the full amount and leaving. The celebration I had wanted for my kids was completely overshadowed by the poor quality of food. I truly hope the standards improve soon, as this experience was far below expectations. It also makes me wonder how no other tables appeared to raise concerns about the lackluster...

Bbq nation Goa, the all you can eat buffet, for starters like literally (get the pun) have 2 sets of menus for veg and non veg, the waiters arrive with different varieties of entrées ranging from fish to prawns to chicken to mutton along with veg items all set out on a ready to eat charcoal grill for which keeps the food smokin’ hot, the quality of the appetisers is excellent along with which you get a complimentary mocktail. The buffet system is well organised having a wide variety of Indian and Chinese dishes which are delicious and tasty too being unlimited, the desserts are a classic ranging from cakes to fruits with ice creams having various sauces for toppings along with Indian sweets and a 11 item must try kulfi corner, this is all inclusive of the buffet, we got a chance to enter the kitchen for a survey and we found out how they prepare their appetisers along with their main food and desserts and how each section of the kitchen is clean and tidy and how organised the kitchen really is. If you have a birthday to celebrate well bbq nation bakes you a cake and plays a happy birthday music along with waiters dancing and singing the song and a photograph is taken of the birthday boy/girl and printed on the spot with a memory of bbq nation frame. An Amazing Culinary Experience at Barbeque Nation!

From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The staff greeted us warmly, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience.

The live grill concept was absolutely fantastic, allowing us to customize the flavors to our liking. The variety of starters was mind-blowing, with succulent kebabs, tangy prawns, and tender chicken that were simply irresistible. The quality of the ingredients and the perfectly balanced spices made every bite a delight.

The buffet spread was a food lover’s paradise, offering a wide range of dishes from Indian curries to continental delights. The biryani was aromatic and full of flavor, and the live counters added an exciting touch with freshly prepared dishes.

Special shoutout to Laxman, our server, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. He was attentive, friendly, and quick to respond to every request, making us feel truly valued as guests.

To top it all off, the dessert section was heavenly! From brownies to fresh fruit salads and the classic kulfi station, it was the perfect ending to a spectacular meal.
