🌟 Bawri, Goa – A Culinary Masterpiece with Soulful Indian Flavors 🌟
Bawri in Goa is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warmth, elegance, and an ambiance that blends tradition with modern aesthetics. Whether you're a local or a traveler looking for elevated Indian cuisine, Bawri is a place that will linger in your memories long after your meal.
🌿 Ambiance & Vibe: The restaurant exudes a rustic yet contemporary charm with its earthy decor, warm lighting, and a beautifully curated space that feels intimate yet grand. The open-air seating adds to the relaxed, coastal vibe, making it perfect for a laid-back dinner or a celebratory meal with loved ones. The attention to detail, from the cutlery to the presentation, enhances the overall fine-dining experience without being pretentious.
🍽️ Food & Drinks: Bawri’s menu is a modern interpretation of classic Indian dishes, bringing out nostalgic flavors with refined techniques and premium ingredients. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, balancing authenticity with innovation.
👉 Coastal Smokey Margarita – This was the perfect way to start the evening! A bold yet refreshing cocktail with smoky undertones and a citrusy kick. A true delight for cocktail lovers! 🍹✨
👉 Pathar Ka Gosht – An absolute showstopper! The mutton was slow-cooked on a hot stone, resulting in a melt-in-the-mouth texture with deep, rich flavors. The smoky aroma elevated this dish to another level. Highly recommended! 🍖🔥
👉 Potato Basket Chaat – A fun, playful dish that was a beautiful balance of crunch, tang, and spice. The crispy potato nest held a flavorful mix of chutneys, yogurt, and masalas, making it a perfect appetizer to tease the taste buds! 🥔🌶️
👉 Mama’s Curry – A homely, comforting dish with a velvety curry base that had just the right amount of spice and depth. Paired with Butter Naan & Laccha Paratha, this was pure bliss in every bite! 🍛🫓
👉 Jackfruit Biryani – Who says biryani needs meat to be flavorful? This vegetarian version was packed with aroma, spice, and texture. The jackfruit added a meaty bite, making it a great alternative for vegetarians who still crave the richness of a traditional biryani. 🍚🌿
👉 Bakarkhani – This slightly sweet, flaky bread was the perfect accompaniment to the curries. It had a beautiful texture and a hint of saffron, making it stand out. 🫓💛
👉 Kesar Jalebi Rabdi – Ending the meal on a sweet note, this dessert was pure indulgence. The jalebis were crispy, golden, and soaked in just the right amount of sugar syrup, paired with rich, creamy rabdi infused with saffron. A must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth! 🍮✨
🌟 Service & Experience: The service at Bawri was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and well-informed about the menu. The staff ensured that every dish was served at the right pace, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the flavors and ambiance.
💯 Final Verdict: Bawri is a love letter to Indian cuisine, reimagined with finesse and passion. Every dish is a story of flavors, and the restaurant itself is an oasis of comfort and indulgence. Whether you’re looking for an intimate dinner, a celebration, or simply a place to unwind with great food, Bawri Goa is a must-visit.

Bawri is a North Indian heaven, tucked in the heart of Goa. Surrounded by lush green palm trees, it offers a laid-back experience while you savour authentic Indian flavours , it is a refreshing pause from the pastas, poke bowls, and seafood grills that usually dominate Goan menus. And of course, there’s the beautiful koi pond at the centre which is a calm, still pocket of water that sets the tone for a slow, indulgent meal. What I especially love about Bawri is how they’ve blended modern architecture with the old, authentic traditional Indian spirit to create a space that’s visually stunning and inviting.
Seating options 🪑 One of the most unique aspects is the variety of seating options: tables and chairs or floor seating on soft mattresses, which most people prefer for a more authentic experience.
This was my second visit to Bawri, and of course, I had to order some staples of Bawri . Last time, we had Sarson ka Saag with Makki ki Roti, but it wasn’t available this visit.
❗️Instead, we tried Roti, Bawri Naan, and Dal Makhani. The Dal was good, but the Bawri Naan was a bit of a letdown , it was very chewy, difficult to tear, and lacking soft, pillowy texture. Not what I expected from a premium place, given the prices. We also had papad on the side.
‼️We also tried something new this time Which was the Charred Paneer. It sounded exciting on the menu, but it didn’t live up to expectations. Flavours were present but not memorable, and the portion was small. While Bawri is a signature place for such dishes, a little more clarity and better portion sizes could do wonders. It felt more like a tasting portion than a proper order , definitely not worth the hype or the spend.
🌟As much as you visit Bawri, you cannot miss the staple Bawri Jamun, arguably the best part of the menu. It’s bursting with flavours, beautifully presented, and the filling inside is impeccable. Every bite feels like a little celebration, and it justifies its price with richness and craftsmanship. Definitely a must-try , a sweet note that makes the whole experience memorable.
Service 🛎 The service at Bawri is frustrating at times, particularly regarding menu and portion knowledge. When we ordered the Charred Paneer, the servers couldn’t clarify whether it was a full dish or a tasting portion. This made ordering unnecessarily confusing. Politeness aside, staff need better menu and portion training for sure . Without it, guests can end up disappointed or over-ordering.
Reservation 👨💼 Whether on a weekday or weekend, book in advance. Bawri draws a crowd, and it gets busy quickly, so a reservation ensures you can enjoy the experience without waiting.
Final Verdict ☑️ One thing is for sure that Bawri lives up to its name most of the time when it comes to the food experience. Every dish reflects the culinary skill behind this restaurant. While pricing could improve, the overall experience remains authentic and memorable, making it a must visit for anyone craving genuine North Indian...

We visited the famous Bawri Goa for dinner, and i must admit it was a delightful experience!
From the cocktails to food to dessert and their warm hospitality- Bawri set a great standard 💯
We savoured a few of their house concoctions:
Tanka Tequila Rosa (Must Try) Amba (Loved it) Kafi Sexy (Recommended)
The bartenders did a fine job of blending these beautiful concoctions and were kind enough to explain the ingredients that went in the making of the cocktails - A fine sipping experience indeed 🥂
Moving to the Appetizers section, and it got really interesting here :
Smoked Prawns had the perfect smokey flavors, medium sized prawns (6 pieces) served in a quarter plate with a touch of garlic aoili. Loved it!
Smoked Australian Lamb Chomps stole our hearts with the presentation and smoke induced flavors. The lamb chops were marinated to a perfect texture, and meat came off the bones with such ease. This comes in 2 portions and is a treat to the palates. (Must Try)
Soft Shell Crab was again exotic, had the right crunch to it with a soft meaty interior.
Curd Rice was again well prepared and generous in portion size!
10 out 10 for all 4 small plates we ordered.
Coming to the Mains, which were again really hearty :
Tandoori Salmon arrived with a wait time for 30 mins prep and was worth the wait! Perfect grilled salmon cut with the crunchy charred skin with a side of puree - Each bite of this slice was heavenly!
Mutton Nihari was again slow cooked with well cooked meat falling of the shank in a medium thick gravy paired with Indian breads.
Mutton Haleem set new standards for this dish at Bawri, topped with brista and a touch of chilli, mint & lime with a soft texture and again paired perfectly with Bawri naan with lal mirch.
Once again 10/10 for the delicious main course we savoured 💯
Ended with wholesome satisfying desserts :
Bawri Jamun is not only humongous in size but packs a punch of sweetness with a combination of Gulab Jamun topped with Rabri - If Indian sweets are your weakness, then don't miss out in this one!!!!
Masala Chai Chesscake was my personal favourite, creamy texture of the chessecake with a burnt coating, giving it a balanced taste. The masala chai flavoured paste kn the side! Must Try Here!!!!
We had an amazing experience at Bawri and a special mention to our Host Miss Kiran, who took care of everything from the time we took our seat till we left. Thank you, Kiran, for the wonderful experience!
