I recently decided to head to Vietnom in assagao today with my Vietnamese friends as had heard a lot of the cuisine and we thought it would be a great experience to try the delicacies and enjoy the afternoon , but it turned into a nightmare , the ambience is good , but when we placed the order for a lot of starters to small mains and mains , one by one the dishes came in a jiffy and trust me it is not even close to vietnam , I have lived in Saigon most of the time . But this food has actually changed the Vietnamese cuisine , it’s their own preparation with their own ingredients. We started with spring rolls fried ones and they were tastes less and just smelly meat , the rice wrap rolls were cut into small pieces and a tinge of mayo was used on it , which humiliated the rice wrap rolls , the chicken skewers with okra were marinated with some tandoori masala , we ordered two pho and we wasted it completely , I felt I was having a Cinammon soup , as it was Cinnamon water , the pork dumpling pho had a stink in it which was not appealing at all , the hoi an rice was sweet and had no element of flavor in it , we called for a chicken with jasmine rice and it was no different from a chilly chicken , the host Mr Girish said that he would serve us a mango pudding on the house which was nothing but a mango milkshake and some icecream where even a normal floods would have been good , the coffee cheese cake was cold and hard and too hard to digest , genuinely 100 out of 100 for trying but you have failed miserably and I am sure people who haven’t known about vietnam cuisine would enjoy it , but if@you are foodie and know your food or have a clue on Vietnamese food is you would relate to what I am saying , extremely over priced not even worth a value for money and a complete horrendous afternoon with a waste of time . Absolute avoidable place infested with flies and while you are eating the waiter starts cleaning the table . The worst experience and complete waste of...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Vietnom, a charming Vietnamese restaurant in Goa.
For our starters, we decided to dive into the world of flavors with the Salmon and Avocado Summer Roll, the Chicken and Water Chestnut Spring Roll, and the Shrimp Mouse on Sugarcane Skewer. Each dish was a delightful revelation. The Salmon and Avocado Summer Roll was a refreshing and light combination of flavors that perfectly set the stage for what was to come. The Chicken and Water Chestnut Spring Roll was a delicious blend of textures, and the Shrimp Mousse on Sugarcane Skewer was a unique and delectable treat.
Moving on to the main course, we had the Turmeric Fish cooked in coconut cream and served with steamed rice noodles. The dish was a symphony of savory and creamy notes, with the fish cooked to perfection. We also savored the Vietnamese-style Spiced Garlic Chicken, which was a fiery stir-fry of chicken and rice with garlic, Bird's Eye chili, and galangal. The balance of spices and the bold flavors in both dishes were exceptional.
To conclude our memorable meal, we indulged in the Pomelo Sago dessert. It was a delightful fusion of chilled cream of mango with tapioca pearls, pomelo segments, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was a fitting end to our Vietnamese culinary adventure.
The restaurant's ambiance was soothing and inviting, with attentive and friendly staff who were eager to make our dining experience memorable.

Read moreA few friends and I went to vietnom recently since it was their last night, And we had an Alright/Okay experience
The ambience was AMAZING!, truly one of a kind.
The waiter attending to us was constantly getting confused with our order but I wouldn't cut him too much slack since the restaurant is fairy new and i would assume this is his first time
Unfortunately the food was very hit or miss
I had ordered the Pork Banh Mi and to my disappointment the meat was bland and the sandwich itself was soggy
I returned my order and to my surprise had a meeting with the chef himself
The chef was super nice and a lovely guy to speak with, he took our feedback well and said he will definitely change some things up.
the salmon avocado rolls were not too great either but we finished it off
The duck breast with galangal was also pretty disappointing, the fat was unrendered which was a major issue for me but my friends didn't know what it meant.
though on the other hand the rice noodles, Dim Sums and dry chilly prawns were amazing and definitely worth trying again.
I say this restaurant is definitely a must go if you're looking for a nice ambience and pretty good Vietnamese food
for 3 people the bill came up to 5500+
My Rating-3.3/5
But will...
