Cafe Tea Trunk — Restaurant in Goa

My wife is a huge tea trunk fan,she swears by their matcha , so she was super excited to visit the tea room of her favorite tea brand. The experience was super disappointing to both of us. The prices are at par with extremely fancy bakeries(Avenue 45 in Hyderabad for example) But whatever was served was just horrible. The cakes were definitely not fresh, nor was the quiche, they had the typical microwave heat. It was at the standard of a local CCD. Just housing the tea room in a fancy building in Fontainhas won't do you any good. The range of teas on offer was disappointing, hardly any classic teas(like actual Earl Grey). If you're a real tea lover, this place is not for you. It's for instagram wannabes. For someone who calls themselves Indias first tea sommelier, this is a disgrace. There are much better tea rooms which do justice to this price point. I will admit that it was an unplanned visit and that I didn't call ahead and ask for their high tea( but that is no excuse really, you can just refuse to serve customers if you feel the food isn't to standards) PS: The candles sold there are also horrible, the wicks are of...

Being a chai person, I genuinely love the diverse options of tea flavours that this brand offers. Not only have I ordered their assorted sachets in the past, but have also been recommending it to my friends! And when the owner Pooja told me about their physical outlet in Goa, I was super excited to visit!

However, I had one of the worst walk-in experiences. While placing an order, they didn't have three of the items I asked for, even though it had been a while since the "tea room experience" had opened that morning. Nonetheless , I ordered and was admiring the creatively cozy setting in the old Portuguese home. While I was clicking pictures, there was a massive argument between the front desk manager and the chef. It was definitely an unpleasant experience to sit there after that. I simply picked up a postcard, cancelled my order and left. Even the other customer walked out after that.
