On my workation to Goa of Nov-Dec 2020, happened to discover this wonderful Spa, Boutique, Restaurant.
The hosts Shanti and Sonu are warm and attentive, assisted by a staff a warm and non-intrusive staff.
The place is tucked away in a non descript corner just a little further from Beachstreet Eco Resort and was a delight to visit. I spent a couple of weeks in Mandrem and the day was rarely complete without a visit to Chique Shanti. The spa offers a very soothing environment, staff is well trained and massage experience is relaxing and consistent. A steady stream of long time regulars stands testimony to their quality of service.
The restaurant spread over two levels offers a comfortable seating on the lower floor with spacious seatings and large tables. The upper deck has low seating with partitioned seating areas, with a comfortable and vibrant decor - suitable for a private romantic dinner or a dinner with a bunch of friends.
The distinctive north indian flavours stand out in their breakfast of aloo parathas and poori sabzi, hands down the best along the Mandrem beach. The tandoor preparations for dinner - a delightful burst of simple and well balanced flavours. Kadai chicken, perfectly tempered Dal tadka and soft naans became a guilty pleasure through my stay.
If you are in and around Mandrem, and looking for a quiet and affordable spot to work from, Chique Shanti is the perfect getaway workation spot, the WiFi connectivty is good and let's you connect and work while the delectable food makes it's way to your table. A stones throw away from the beach, you can walk down to take in the beautiful sunset and return to continue your work or dine.
This isn't a paid review, it'slong as I loved the place. I had a surprisingly wonderful experience and would recommend a visit for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointing and bad massage. The ātherapistā was definitely not trained. I walked in and booked a back massage as I saw their high prices (compared to other places) and preferred to check it out first. The room was nice but very hot and the lady didnāt bother to turn on the fan or AC. No relaxing music - which I could live with if the massage was good. She was obviously ill and had to cough multiple times during the treatment and making strange noises. Super unhygienic and unsafe. The massage was very monotonous, not caring about knots and tension and squeezing my rips multiple times. Despite me asking to please focus on my shoulders, she would always go back to light stokes over my back. Half way through the massage she asked if itās ok to turn on the AC⦠she also wouldnāt leave the room when I would change⦠Total waste of time and money :( Upon payment, the cashier was disinterested and took the money, but then like out of protocol asked āhow was the massage?ā I said ānot good and very disappointingā. No sorry, no empathy, nothing. Thatās it and I left. While they might have actual professional therapists which all the good reviews suggested, this behaviour shows me they are just looking for your money and donāt care since you are just a tourist and will be gone soon anyway. Plus itās way overpriced! Two minutes down the road is a lovely little Ayurvedic massage parlour, not fancy, but reasonably priced and super professional,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChique Shanti is a hidden unique vibrant colourful sea side cafe, spa, boutique and a hotel.
Location: it is situated on the beautiful sandy deserted Manderem Beach which gives a feeling of private beach as very less people know about this beach and during sunset there are few people around enjoying the long sand shores. Beach is good for bathing in the sea as waves are not very strong.
Ambiance: This place is young at heart with vibrant colours, Indian traditional touch to set up. There are two sitting available one inside and another outside facing the backwaters and sea. They also have some half bed to relax in the cafe apart from the sunbed on beach. You can also plan your office work here as it is very peaceful with Charging point and good network range.
Food: Widespread cuisine list in the menu like Indian, Italian, Chinese, European etc. On request even they are ready to customise the food. Food served to us was good in taste. They also have bar with different options to satisfy the taste buds.
Staff: Very helpful and courteous.
Amenities: Charging point, books to read, rooms to stay, traditional massages, boutique for shopping lovers, Bathroom for shower after the sea bath.
My recommendation would be to plan a lazy day out here to have a complete experience of this place.
Caution: Please be careful of flies, ants and other insects as this is very close to the nature. There are chances of them falling in your food.
Timing:...
