Right in the heart of Anjuna (Near the iconic Vinayak restaurant) is this little Italian Cafe called Fortunes Pizzeria serving the most authentic Neapolitan Food run by head Chef Roberta from Naples but now Lives in India. Safe to say that her Italian influence has still remained strong.

Italian food is much more Famous than just for its incredible pasta, creamy risottos and wood-fired pizzas. Roberta makes some of the classics and favourites from Naples.

We started with a Panuozzi and this is probably the only place in Goa you’ll get it. It’s like the hybrid of a Panini and Pizza made from pizza dough, which is cold fermented for 24 hours then fired in a screaming hot wood fried oven to achieve an airy pizza interior and crispy exterior with charring that looks like leopard spots. We tried the one with Smoked tomato, garlic, eggplant and Salami.

The Maida for their Pizza dough along with the other Spices that go into making the sauces are all imported from Italy along with the Cheese. Did something out of the box and tried the Tuna Pizza and I loved it 🍕

The harissa sauce on the calzone which is more like a folded pizza had the exact hint of spicy I love. Never thought Italians would be such spicy food too.

The home Burrata cheese which is an Italian cheese make from Cows milk topped on the Bruschetta was so satisfying. This burrata bruschetta was made with thin slices of toasted sourdough bread topped with burrata cheese, fresh tomatoes, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

Though the pizza was a bit of a relief, the atmosphere was a total letdown nothing to do with the place, however there were two women across the table who were sitting with their legs on the sofa, spread out and the way they sat was definitely not appropriate. We entered the place, and the staff didn't acknowledge the guests who arrived. There was a girl at the counter, and she definitely wasn't busy. She could have used her time to mention the place was full. I reached out to her to let me know I would be accommodated after a couple who entered before us, which was fair enough. There was only one waiter, and he seemed to be in total control. However, after seeing the order on the display, we reached out to him to give our order. He gestured to us with a policeman hand approach to wait ✋️.. which we kindly did. He took our order by showing us the pamphlets, which was useless as we already knew what we needed. Overall, the rating would be a perfect 5 if you want a home delivery. However, if you are looking for an Instagram influencer type promotion, it will be a tool letdown for families who come from far as the service personnel definitely won't make your day. There were quite a few cooks inside who could have assisted the lone waiter, but their expression was not a bit friendly. A few minutes later, the owner arrived, and her approach itself was so pleasant, warm and a perfect host. She made every effort to smile at her guests and acknowledged some guests who didn't reciprocate, probably due to the service attitude of the staff.
