Read moreHorrible Food. Loaded with Garam Masala. Not a single vegetable dish deserved any adulation. The Chaat was especially awful with no taste to even decipher that it was a Basic Chaat. Both the Kadhis, gujarati and Rajasthani, were absolutely tasteless. I tried real hard to find one item in the menu that cud be labelled as authentically gujarati, but absolutely couldn't, neither in taste nor in its existence. The most surprising thing about the food was awfully LOW QUALITY of food products being used. The wheat flour used to make rotis was absolutely third grade. And I can now very well say that the food tasted pathetic as the quality of products used was very poor and I guess the chef de bleu too has no skill whatsoever in the kitchen that he has to rely on just Garam Masala for his food to b palatable. So lemme jot down every detail of each n every item on the menu. To begin with Chaat and the pineapple drink - not even worth a try. The vaghareli idli looked days old dry masal bread. The bataka vada was anything but vada at all as it lacked every taste of a perfect bataka vada. All the sabzis fall under one word- RUBBISH The dal baati lacked the rajasthan taste in dal, the baati was not worth mentioning as it was barely seen in the dish, it was dat small. The kadhis- AWFUL The gujarati deal was awfully sweet n laden with spices Let's jump to the sweets. The moong dal halwa was everything dat a coconut barfi cud be but not at all moong dal halwa. The gulab jamun cut in half also was laden with shredded coconut n tasted more of coconut than gulab jamun. The only saving grace was the Fruit Salad but it was also flawed as it had just 4 fruits, chiku, banana, pomegranate and apple. What a waste!!! 375 per person unlimited gujarati thali is surely a bad buy at Gwal Bhog. The guys haven't bothered to correct their lighted hoarding where the letter G just doesn't brighten up. Do u think they take their outlet seriously when it comes to being professionally competitive in the market? I guess they don't take their professionalism seriously and thus the awful food. I shall NEVER visit GWAAL...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but my experience with Gwalbhog’s booking service was extremely disappointing. Despite calling well in advance, the managers were completely unprofessional and seemed to show clear partiality when it came to taking reservations. It honestly felt like they were giving preference to people they knew rather than following a fair system. It’s a shame because the food is truly amazing — very authentic and full of flavor, and the ambience of the restaurant is beautiful and gives a genuine traditional vibe. Unfortunately, all that good work in the kitchen and décor is completely overshadowed by the horrible management and booking process.
