We recently visited Ahmedabad, we were out of home for almost a week, missing homemade food. One of our local friend suggested this place to us for authentic Kathiyawadi, home style cooked food.
Place is small but quite cool and happening, over crowded, with no fancy frills. what I like most is open terrace seating arrangements, warli arts on wall, they also have khatiyas (small folding beds) to seat, ambience is so simple and homely that, you’ll feel that you’re seating and enjoying food at the terrace of your own home. If anyone have problem in climbing the stairs, then they have to avoid this place, other wise good place to have simple tasty food.
We went for dinner and ordered;
Dhokli Nu Shaak (mild side dish of steamed gram flour dumplings in yogurt based gravy) . Ringan No Olo (spicy side dish of roasted brinjals, green garlic, tomatoes and onions) . Bajara No Rotlo (thick flatbread of pearl millet flour) served with Ghee (clarified butter) and Gol (jaggery) . Chapati (thin flatbread of whole wheat flour) . Papad . Chaas (buttermilk) . Other Accompaniments are - 3 types of salad, Rai Na Marcha (mustard flavoured green chilli pickle)
Food was fresh and tasty, service was good, staff was polite. If you’re in search of home style kathiyawadi food at pocket friendly rate, must...
Read moreBeing a big fan of Gujarati food, was looking out for an Authentic location to have good Gujarati food during my TWO day visit to Ahmedabad with my International colleagues. This restaurant popped up during my Google Search and I must tell you that it did not disappoint us at all. Though no Thali was available for Dinner, we had ordered Kathyawadi Sambharo, Lemon Coriander Soup, Paneer Angari, a Kaju dish, Dhall, Chaas and another mix Veg Dish. Quality of food, especially the Kaju dish and the Dal Tadka was amazing. Soft and fluffy fresh Phulka Rotis, Good Chaas coupled with excellent customer service. A few points for the owners to consider The Washing place was under Metal Stair case and the chance of injuring your head is quite high, if you are not mindful. The place could also be a bit clean The spiral staircase leading to the restaurant on the top floor is quite scary and painful to climb. It would be good to have alternatives.
These are only small flawas, but the quality, freshness of food and the kindness of service puts aside all of these.
If you are fond of Gujarati food and you are in Ahmedabad, do visit this place and try out their food. You would not regret, rather remember them for...

I visited this restaurant for the first time today and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered two plates of Sev Tameta, and the dish was extremely unhealthy, poorly prepared, and tasted awful. It was honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had.
After trying to finish our meal, I approached the manager to politely share feedback about the food. Unfortunately, the response was shocking. Instead of listening, the manager spoke rudely, raised his voice, and behaved very unprofessionally — not how you should treat any customer.
The service was just as terrible. Items were not served properly, and when we tried to order more or get someone’s attention, the staff completely ignored us.
This place is a total waste of money, time, and health. I strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant. Very disappointing...
