Sonali Restaurant — Restaurant in Gujarat

Sonali restaurant is Very Old and Famous name in Rajkot Town. It a Winner of Red FM ka Thappa for their Pau-Bhaji Dish. Ours was rhe first ever visit at that restaurant and we too ordered their Most Famous Dish, Pau-Bhaji..and I must say me and my wife enjoyed it so much. It was awesome. We really loved it. I am less of Pau-Bhaji guy and also a critic so far as food and taste is concerned. But guess what, their dish really won my tiny award😉. They have started for about 50 years back selling Pau-Bhai on a thela and gradually grew because of their taste and word of mouth communication. Taste is nice and Customer service is good but I am giving 4 star because I am skeptical about the cleanliness and hygiene part.

Sonali is the oldest outlet serving PavBhaji at Rajkot. I had heard a lot about them and checked Google as well as Trip advisor and Zomato review before ordering Pavbhaji for a party of 30 people. I was not very impressed by the quality of the Bhaji, Pav and Pulao. Though the quantity was more than sufficient but the Bhaji was too oily and spicy (was mentioned at the time of placing the order to make it least spicy) also the Pav was very chewy and Pulav had absolutely no spices or no taste. Just blend yellow rice. Of course as I am a foodie and have had a little bit of over expectations from them I may be little harsh in judging them as most of guests admired it. Its was a very short visit. Went there to ask how long the wait was since saw few people waiting outside the restaurant. Went i walked in the person on main counter dressed casually was talking on phone right infront of me and did not bother to even asked me what i wanted until i interrupted him by sayin excuse me. Then when asked how long the wait would be, he had no clue and started looking at the floor supervisor or mngr (nt sure) but dt person was taking orders and busy serving the guests. I waited for few min bt sinve dt person was busy this guy on counter looked around n said minimum 45min wait at 10pm.
