I stayed at The Oberoi Gurgaon with my family on 5th July 2025, and reserved a dinner buffet at Cilantro, Trident Gurgaon. What should have been a pleasant evening turned into a distressing experience when one of our vegetarian guests was mistakenly served non-vegetarian food — despite having clearly communicated our dietary preferences.
Even more concerning than the incident itself was the way it was handled afterward. One of their staff members, Mr. Suryansh, explicitly told us that the food being served was vegetarian, which led to the unfortunate consumption. The matter was acknowledged on the spot by the F&B Manager, Mr. Alok Rai, who offered to move us to 361° at The Oberoi and even proposed waiving off the bill — which we refused, out of principle.
However, to my surprise, their official written response later attempted to twist the facts, deny the acknowledgment by their own staff, and paint an entirely different picture. This kind of defensive spin, especially from a group like Oberoi, is not only unprofessional but also harms their own reputation.
The way some senior employees tried to manage the narrative post-incident reflects poorly on the standards one expects from the Oberoi Group. I hope the management takes this as an opportunity to introspect and uphold the values they are known for — not compromise them through internal cover-ups.

Read moreEarning a solid four stars from me. The ambiance is elegant yet relaxed, with its striking crimson dome and a lovely outdoor verandah that overlooks lush gardens—perfect for a calm evening out. The service was a standout; the staff was attentive, warm, and quick to accommodate requests, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The menu offers a mix of Mediterranean, Indian, and Southeast Asian dishes, and I appreciated the variety. The wood-fired pizza was a highlight—crisp, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Indian options, like the dal makhani and tandoori kebabs, were rich and well-spiced, though not exceptional compared to some local favorites. My only gripe was that a few dishes, like the pasta, felt slightly underwhelming—lacking that extra punch of flavor...
