A Cozy Affair at The FES Café, Gurugram
In the ever-growing culinary landscape of Gurugram, it’s always exciting to stumble upon a hidden gem, and the FES Café and Desserts turned out to be just that. Nestled in the heart of the city, this new café has quickly gained a reputation for its freshly baked cookies and inviting ambiance. My visit here was nothing short of delightful, and I can’t wait to share the experience with you.
A Sweet Start: The Cookies
The FES Café takes its baked goodies seriously, and their cookies are the stars of the show. With enticing options like the Walnut Choco Chunk, The Pista-Shew, Dark Chocolate Monster, The Coco-Nutty Vegan, and the Choco Fudge Brownie, choosing just one felt like an impossible task.
I loved how the café has made indulgence affordable with their cookie deals: • Any 1 for ₹199 • Any 2 for ₹299 • Any 4 for ₹499
I couldn’t resist trying the Walnut Choco Chunk and the Dark Chocolate Monster. The Walnut Choco Chunk was a perfect balance of nuttiness and sweetness, while the Dark Chocolate Monster, true to its name, was a rich, decadent treat that any chocolate lover would adore.
A Culinary Adventure: The Savory Bites
Beyond the cookies, the savory menu at The FES Café deserves its own spotlight. The Mezze Platter was a standout – a vibrant assortment of dips, breads, and fresh accompaniments that was perfect for sharing.
The Mushroom Ragu Hummus was another dish that left me impressed. The earthy, umami-rich flavors of the mushroom blended seamlessly with the creamy hummus, creating a unique twist on a classic favorite.
Sips of Comfort
No café visit is complete without sipping on something comforting, and The FES Café delivered on that front too. I opted for the Caramel Frappuccino and a classic Caffe Mocha.
The Caramel Frappuccino was a sweet, frothy delight with just the right hint of caramel, while the Caffe Mocha offered a rich coffee flavor perfectly balanced with chocolate. Both drinks paired beautifully with the cookies and made for a satisfying end to my visit.
The Verdict
The FES Café is a charming addition to Gurugram’s café scene. Whether you’re in the mood for freshly baked cookies, hearty savory dishes, or comforting coffee, this place has something for everyone.
If you’re in Gurugram and looking for a cozy spot to unwind or catch up with friends, I highly recommend giving The FES Café a try. And don’t forget to grab a cookie (or four) on your way out – they’re...
Read moreFES was supposed to be a celebration of food. Instead, it felt like a long, overpriced punishment for having taste buds.
Let’s start with the French fries — the absolute bare minimum at any food event. These were half-cooked, completely unsalted, soggy, and sad. If you’ve ever wondered what raw potato disappointment tastes like, this was it. It’s genuinely impressive how something this simple was done this poorly.
The food overall lacked flavor, effort, and any sense of direction. Every dish felt like it was made just to fill space on a menu. No thought, no taste — just edible confusion.
Now coming to the coffee section. Honestly, if caffeine could cry, it would’ve walked out of this setup. • The Hazelnut Frappe tasted like they blended ice, a drop of hazelnut essence, and hope. Mostly just cold and watery. • The Americano was bitter in a “left-on-the-burner-too-long” way — zero depth, all disappointment. • And the Iced Latte? More like iced nothing. Weak, tasteless, and somehow managed to make milk and coffee feel like strangers in the same cup.
FES wasn’t a food experience — it was a cautionary tale. If mediocrity had a venue, this would be it. Would I recommend it? Only if you’re trying to lose...
Read moreSeriously unimpressed. I thought they would be more mindful and have a better curated food menu. But ummm not so much. Like they don’t keep ice cream or gelato for adding in cold coffees or whipped cream for that matter but a processed food item like a croissants isn’t a problem? They keep peach ice tea but the peach and the tea part is missing. I sent back the drink because it felt like cold sugar water but god knows what changes they made. Still sucked. They keep metal straws for purchase but offer paper straws! Burgers don’t have patties 🤔 just hung curd, jalapeño and mushrooms in the one i had? And the way it was explained I thought the patty would be made of mushrooms. It wasn’t. Also for all the reusable and consciousness they seem to project, they do indeed print-long bills on paper sheets lol despite accepting payments via methods like UPI. Being a pure vegetarian, and having been to all sorts of vegan restaurants across town, I expected more from here. Hope they do better. Galleria isn’t a market that can be sustained on this...
