Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience at Punjab Grill – Ambience Mall
Dear Punjab Grill Management,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share a deeply disappointing experience I had during a recent family dinner at your Punjab Grill outlet located at Ambience Mall.
On our visit, we were expecting a pleasant evening, considering the reputation that Punjab Grill has built over the years for its food and ambiance. However, the experience turned out to be far from satisfactory and left us with a sense of being overcharged and unheard.
To begin with, we had a simple request—a bottle of water. We were served just one bottle, for which we were shocked to find a charge of ₹275 added to our bill. This is exorbitant, unfair, and unethical. Water is a basic necessity, and charging such an outrageous amount for it—without informing the customer beforehand—reflects very poorly on your pricing transparency and customer ethics.
Even premium fine-dining establishments maintain basic courtesy and sensibility in billing. This level of overpricing, especially for something as essential as drinking water, not only felt like exploitation but also ruined the entire dining experience for us. As a family looking forward to a peaceful meal, we felt deeply disrespected by such practices.
Moreover, when we raised the concern with the staff, we were met with indifference. There was no apology, no willingness to explain or rectify the issue—only a robotic response that "this is how it's billed." This cold and dismissive attitude was equally upsetting and unacceptable.
Punjab Grill is not a roadside outlet; it's a name that people associate with high standards and hospitality. But unfortunately, our experience made us question whether customer satisfaction or basic values are even a priority anymore.
We chose your restaurant to celebrate quality time with our loved ones, not to walk out feeling cheated and frustrated. It is high time restaurants stop taking customers for granted under the label of "fine dining." Such instances not only hurt your brand’s image but also push loyal customers away.
We sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that such exploitative billing practices are either corrected or communicated clearly in advance to customers. Basic items like water should never become a source of such inconvenience.
We expect a response and some kind of acknowledgment for the concern raised. It is not about the money—it’s about the principle and the experience. Service provider name Mr....
Read more…. Shot! …wait till the end about this. Punjab Grill is a nice lovely restaurant for good Punjabi food. The menu is of typical Punjabi dishes but when I spotted Tandoori Gucchi I was totally excited since this is not found in majority of restaurants. Alas! my excitement was short lived when the hostess informed that they did not have it🥲. On the brighter side … tandoori paneer tikka Multani was excellent… well balanced, soft and stuffed with a layer of mint chutney. The Dahi Kebbabs were on point as well with a nice touch of a badam on each kabab. The tandoori stuffed button mushroom were really very well presented and tasted divine. They were stuffed with delicately spiced paneer and coated with a slightly tangy spicy layer of yogurt and Besan mix. The tomato soup was a total let down … too salty and too thick with more chillies than I would like in a soup. (The hostess readily removed this from the bill when I expressed my disappointed. Thank you.)The missi roti though decent size and lathered with butter missed the spot by having an abundant portion of hari mirchi. The butter naan were on par. All in all a very delicious eating experience in a pleasant rich looking ambience. The service was personable and prompt. And now to the shot! They served us “paan shots” after the meal. These were simply awesome and hit a home run… a perfect ending to a fine meal. The Paan shot is a delicate blend of betal leaf, gulukand, ice cream and other spices to give you an after dinner “digestive”. One downside … this restaurant does not serve masala chai🙃. UPDATE: Re-visited and asked for Tandoori Gucchi (they did not have it previous visit)… it was well presented and excellent taste of delicate spices. I have had better but this was no less. If you have a discerning taste … try this. You won’t be disappointed. Pro-tip.. try first and by itself without adding anything or with...
Read morePerched on the 3rd floor of Ambience mall next to Asia 7 and Fresco, I have always thought of walking into this place but never visited it earlier as it was a bit too Indian food my liking. I being a light eater have been avoiding this place. Last weekend, got the opportunity to visit with a friend. The staff was welcoming and guided us to a table. We wanted to shift to another one and they were kind enough to accommodate us. (The sofa that we sat on earlier was not very comfortable so we took a table with chairs). The place has an open kitchen and a bar so everything is prepared in front of your eyes. Most people prefer buffet at this place but we went for a la carte. I ordered mushroom soup which was served at the right temperature, was yummy but lacked consistency. It was a little too watery for my liking. My friend ordered fruit punch which she loved. We then ordered a non veg platter which has four varieties of starters: Fried fish, Mutton Burra, Chicken Malai Tikka and Chicken Tandoori. The platter had two of each and he size was pretty decent. Fish was fresh (which is always a concern in areas which are not next to water bodies) and nicely spices. Mutton burra was well cooked, nicely spiced, and very tender to eat. Chicken malai tikka was soft and flavourful and chicken tandoori was nice and spicy. It was enough for the both of us so we called it a night with just the platter. While the starters were nice, they were served a little cold thus taking away the joy of having steaming starters. Feedback was given to the manager and it was well received.
Will visit again to try the buffet. Would definitely want to try their Dal Makhani and Butter chicken. I would...
