A Manga Feast at YouMee, CyberHub – Where Anime Meets Appetite
I've often said that restaurants must tell a story — of food, of culture, of memory. But at YouMee, nestled in the always-buzzing CyberHub of Gurugram, the story isn't just told. It's sketched, splashed in colour, and brought to life in a riot of manga panels and umami-packed bites.
Now, I'll admit: I'm not the biggest anime fanatic. I know my Ghibli from my Naruto, sure, but I don't lose sleep over cliffhangers. Yet, when I heard that YouMee was hosting a limited-time festival called Manga Matsuri, I was intrigued. "A place where anime meets ramen," the invitation said. Count me in.
The Manga Matsuri is less a food festival and more a multi-sensory experience. Walk in, and you're immediately transported into a world where animated heroes slurp bowls of ramen and battle demons over dessert. The décor is unapologetically vibrant — manga cutouts, pop art wall panels, and themed table setups that would make even the most serious critic crack a smile. You half expect to see Goku walk in and order a plate of gyoza.
But strip away the fanfare and cosplay cues, and what remains is still what YouMee does best: bold, unapologetically inventive Pan-Asian cuisine.
Let's talk about the food.
We began with the Spicy Chicken Katsu Sushi — crispy karaage-fried chicken rolled tightly in nori, dotted with mayo, and sprinkled with togarashi pepper. It's not traditional sushi, but it's unapologetically YouMee — comfort food dressed in cosplay.
The Spicy Vegetable & Chive Dimsums were another revelation. Vegetarian dumplings can often feel like an afterthought, but here, the fiery filling of chives, lotus stem, and water chestnut was balanced beautifully with black mushroom and fresh red chili. There's bite, there's depth, and above all, there's flavour.
Next came the Stir-Fried Chicken Udon Noodles, wok-tossed with Sichuan chili flakes and an assortment of vegetables. Udon noodles, with their thick and chewy texture, held their own against the heat. This dish, much like the entire festival, is a blend of comfort and chaos — in the best way possible.
But the real surprise of the afternoon was the Kimchi Tofu Ramen — a vegan Korean-style bowl brimming with seasonal vegetables, silken tofu, and fermented funk. It's the kind of dish that doesn't scream for attention but lingers in your memory long after the last spoonful.
What elevates YouMee above your average Pan-Asian eatery is its ability to marry pop culture with palate. The CyberHub outlet, like its siblings across India, doesn't just serve food — it crafts an experience. Every visit feels like an episode; every dish, a plot twist.
And it's not just for the anime aficionados. Whether you're a "weeb" (as the Gen-Z calls it) or just someone who enjoys a good bowl of ramen with a side of drama — Manga Matsuri is worth the detour.
As YouMee continues its rise across the culinary map of India, it reminds us that food needn't always be solemn or sanctified. Sometimes, it can — and should — be fun.
Go for the sushi, stay for the sass. And if you spot Pikachu while sipping on your miso soup, don't be alarmed — that's just YouMee doing what it does best.
Verdict: Come hungry. Leave happy. And maybe pick up a manga collectible while...

Food and Beverages:
The Tempura Sushi is a must-try, offering fresh flavors and a satisfying crunch. The Cheese Chilli Dimsums are a standout, bursting with cheesy goodness, and perfectly paired with chili oil and soya sauce. The Ramen, while decent, could use more depth in flavor, and the Flat Noodles, though tasty, arrived a bit cold and stuck together.
Highly recommended drinks include the freshly squeezed orange juice and the watermelon drink with a refreshing hint of ginger.
Service:
The service at YOUMEE is excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. Though the food might take a bit of time, the quality and presentation make it worth the wait. They provide chopsticks, as well as forks and spoons.

Read moreWe visited YouMee and tried a few interesting dishes: • New York Cheese and Chilli Oil Dimsum: A great pick for cheese lovers! The dimsum was flavorful and satisfying. I do wish the chilli oil was infused inside the dimsum like the cheese, which would’ve elevated it further—but still, a solid dish. • Avocado and Mango Black Rice Sushi: This one stood out in terms of taste—refreshing and unique. However, the sushi was quite sticky and difficult to separate without breaking, which made eating a bit messy. • Dynamite Shrimp Sushi: Absolutely delicious! But the roll came apart easily, possibly because it was loosely packed.
Overall, the flavors were impressive, and it was a fine dining experience. A little more attention to sushi structure would make it...
