I recently visited Madras Cafe in Manali, and it served the best South Indian food I've had in the area. Initially, I wasn't in the mood for eating, but my companions were, so I joined them. We started with a Vada and Sambar, and the Sambar was incredibly delicious - the best I've had at any South Indian restaurant. It was my first time trying Madras Cafe, and the Sambar won everyone over. We then ordered Idlis, which were soft and tasty. I also had Paper Dosa and Masala Dosa, while my companions tried Onion Dosa and Paneer Dosa. All the dosas were amazingly flavorful. The place was crowded, which is a testament to its popularity. The food was excellent, and the service was attentive. If you're in Manali and craving South Indian food, Madras Cafe is a must-visit. I'd give it a 5 out of 5 rating - it's definitely worth trying!

The brightly painted Madras Café is in a great location on the Mall, beckoning tourists from the South hungering for genuine South Indian cuisine. The interiors are minimalistic, brightly lit and sparkling clean. The warm red and cool green colours add to the warmth of the nature. The food is genuinely South Indian. Its coconut chutney and red chutneys are very authentic, and so is the filter coffee. The idli-vada sambar was absolutely fresh and soft. The sambar was even better than the over-spicy liquid they try to pass off as sambhar in many places the South. A visit is definitely recommended. The owners could try to develop a friendlier service to build long-term loyalty to get a 5-star.

I had high expectations for Madras Coffee, but my visit was a complete letdown. The coffee was bland, watery, and far from the rich South Indian flavor they claim to serve. The food quality was equally poor — stale snacks, oily preparation, and very little freshness. The service was painfully slow despite the place not being crowded. Staff seemed uninterested and barely responsive. The ambiance was noisy and unhygienic, with tables left uncleared for long periods. For the price they charge, I expected far better. Definitely not worth the money or the hype. I won’t be returning and cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a good coffee expe

I dined at this restaurant after being swayed by promising Google reviews, but what a disappointment it turned out to be. The service was utterly pathetic—orders arrived, but we had to repeatedly chase waiters for basic items like sugar and napkins, which completely soured the dining experience. As for the food, it was a letdown of epic proportions. The dosa and uttapam were the worst I’ve ever tasted, with an off-putting flavor that made it impossible to finish even half our portions. The filter coffee was no better, leaving a bitter aftertaste that lingered unpleasantly. Overall, this place turned what should have been a pleasant dinner into a frustrating and regrettable ordeal. Save your time and money—avoid...
