Where do I start... Started going here at least 10 - 12 years back.. The ambience didn't change, the owners didn't change.. Husband and wife manage the show with other professionals... The tourist normally make a beeline to enter inside during lunch and dinner times... Very popular among the tourists... Give earthy punjab house like feeling...
Well now the bad: the taste is very average.... Mark my words very average... Similar food can be found in adjoin many restaurants... And at half the price.. It was not like that earlier... On my first and second visit this place was too good... The food was like food.. Now they serve whatever and whichever way they have prepared... Taste doesn't matter now as the fan following is doing the bit... The kadhai panner was so rubbish that I do not want you to try out even if you plan to visit this place. I will try to describe.. The panner chunks wer lying in the pool of oil with some turmeric and red chillies sprinkled on it.. With some pieces of onion lying here and there...
Dal makhani.... Fav dish for many.... Well its boiled and served. As simple as that.
Roti: cold
Missi roti: hard
Tandoori chicken: red coloured dried cold piece of meat.
My suggestion : find out something else... Don't just go because there is a group of people waiting outside or you have heard about it from somebody......
Read moreI recently had a very disappointing experience at sher-e-punjab. As a woman, I was shocked and appalled by the lack of basic facilities and the unprofessional behavior of the staff.
Firstly, the restaurant does not allow women to use their public conveniences. This is not only discriminatory but also a blatant violation of government regulations. Such a policy is unacceptable and leaves female patrons in an extremely uncomfortable position.
To make matters worse, the door guard was incredibly uncooperative. When I tried to explain my situation, he was dismissive and rude, showing complete disregard for customer service and basic human decency. He even had the audacity to say that if women used their public conveniences, it would bother their other tourists. This excuse is absurd and highlights the restaurant’s disregard for their customers' needs.
Overall, my visit to sher-e-punjab was frustrating and upsetting. I strongly advise others to avoid this place until they address these serious issues and start respecting their...
Read morePATHETIC After working in manali for more than a year i have tried almost every cafe and restaurant. Yesterday i went to this place with my parents who were on visit.
First the restaurant looks attractive only from outside As soon as u enter you are directed to sit on the 3rd floor okay thats not a problem as soon as u go to 3rd floor we were asked change place by the ill trained waiter or manager whoever it is 4 times that please sit here there here there.
Then comes to service which i will rate in negative there is a thing called LACK OF STAFF which exist here. Noone comes to take your order for atleast half an hour inspite if asking that waiter in suit multiple times then if you get a chance to place the order you will have to wait for atleast another half an hour and in between i was asked to change place again
Food was okay but overpriced
Ambience is 2/5 Food is 3.5/5 Service -1/5 Staff 0/5
Better go to 1986 cafe which is close to this place....
