Hello, i have been listening to tales of how superb the Evergreen Cafe in Kasol is. The food, the ambience and even the staff had been very good. However, on my recent visit to the cafe, i observed that the overall vibe of the cafe has drastically changed for worse to a point of no return. When we went there, the cafe had ample space to seat our group of 9 people. However, the short guy at the reception insisted that it was reserved and we would have to make a reservation. After haggling for around 10 minutes, he agreed and then asked us to pay 2k per person for around 1-1.5 hours. When we asked what he would tell the people who reserved the seats, he said it was his business, and we should not interfere. We thought it was unfair and hence we left the restaurant. A couple of my friends posted a review criticising the behaviour of the short guy at the reception. When we went in the next day, hoping for a reconciliation since we love the vibe of the restaurant, he called out my friends who posted the review and asked them to delete the reviews since it involved his criticism! When we refused, he cancelled the orders we placed and asked us to leave. We felt really bad and angry at the ridiculous behaviour that the short guy had shown. I am utterly disappointed and i am suggesting that nobody should visit the restaurant. The short guy at the reception really needs to learn some manners given the industry he works in.
