Recently visited Coalspark Restaurant in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, to try their much-talked-about ₹399 BBQ Platter, which promises four varieties of chicken, a welcome mojito, a scoop of ice cream, and unlimited chicken and rice. Here’s my take on the experience. Food Quality and Variety: 4/5 The BBQ platter was a highlight, featuring four distinct chicken preparations: Legendary BBQ Wings, Hung Curd BBQ Wings, Coal Special Wings, and Mustard Grilled Wings. Each variety brought something unique to the table. The Legendary BBQ Wings had a smoky, tangy kick, while the Hung Curd Wings were creamy and mildly spiced, offering a nice contrast. The Coal Special Wings packed a punch with bold flavors, and the Mustard Grilled Wings had a subtle, zesty edge. The portions were generous, and the chicken was juicy and well-cooked, though the Mustard Grilled Wings were slightly less flavorful compared to the others. The platter comes with unlimited chicken and rice, which is a great value for money. However, the rice disappointed me a bit—it’s advertised as part of the deal, but it’s not the aromatic Mandi rice I expected. Instead, it’s plain palau rice, which felt a bit underwhelming and didn’t complement the bold flavors of the BBQ chicken as well as a spiced rice would have. The unlimited chicken, though, was a hit, and the staff promptly refilled the platter when requested. Welcome Mojito: 3.5/5 The welcome mojito was a refreshing start—light, minty, and well-balanced, though not particularly memorable. It felt like a standard non-alcoholic mojito with a decent presentation, but I’d have loved a bit more flair, maybe a fruit-infused variant to match the vibrant vibe of the restaurant. Ice Cream: 3/5 The scoop of ice cream served as a dessert was a nice touch to round off the meal. I got a creamy black currant flavor, which was enjoyable but nothing extraordinary. It felt like a standard scoop you’d get at most places, and I wished there were more flavor options or a slightly larger portion to elevate the experience. Ambiance and Service: 4.5/5 Coalspark’s ambiance is warm and inviting, with a casual yet lively vibe that’s perfect for group outings or family dinners. The staff was attentive and quick to assist, especially with the unlimited refills, which made the meal feel like a steal at ₹399. The restaurant was clean, and the safety measures were reassuring, aligning with what other reviewers have noted about their attention to hygiene. Value for Money: 4.5/5 At ₹399, this platter is a fantastic deal. The variety of chicken, unlimited refills, and inclusions like the mojito and ice cream make it a budget-friendly option for a satisfying meal. The only letdown was the plain palau rice, which could be improved by offering Mandi rice or a spiced alternative to match the BBQ theme. Overall: 4/5 Coalspark’s ₹399 BBQ Platter is a great choice for chicken lovers looking for variety and value. The four chicken varieties are flavorful and well-prepared, the unlimited chicken and rice add to the appeal, and the mojito and ice cream are nice bonuses. While the plain palau rice was a slight miss, the overall experience—bolstered by great service and a lively ambiance—makes this a spot worth visiting. I’d recommend it for a casual group hangout or a budget-friendly feast. Just don’t expect Mandi rice, and you’ll leave happy .... Noted . platter price rise i stead of...

I’ve always been a huge fan of Coalspark’s Veg Alfredo Pasta—ordered it multiple times and loved it every single time. Visiting the restaurant had been on my list for ages, but I kept prioritizing other places. Finally, we made it on 5th May 2025—and I only regret not going sooner!
Crab Soup – Marked as a must-try. The flavor is strong and fresh, definitely for those who love seafood. I enjoyed it, but it’s not for everyone. Rating: 6/10
Legendary BBQ Chicken – It came with salad, khubus bread, and two types of mayo. This dish was an absolute bomb! Smokey, well-seasoned, perfectly grilled—not overcooked or underdone. Paired with the dips, it was a flavor burst! Rating: 10/10
Clope Makhli Samak (Off-menu fish dish) – We asked for something crispy in the fish section and were recommended this hidden gem. I was skeptical since it’s not on the menu—but wow! Served with bread, fries, garlic mayo, and hummus dip. One bite and it melted in my mouth. The flavor + dips=Too yumm! Rating: 10/10
Butter Naan & Chicken Lahori – The naan was generously buttered (loved that!) but a bit too crispy for my preference. The chicken was flavorful and paired well. Rating: 7.5/10
Tender Coconut Falooda – I really wanted falooda, but the staff told me it wasn’t available due to closing time. I was bummed, but then came a lovely surprise—Mr. Farooq made it happen anyway and brought it to our table! It was as delicious as ever. Rating: 10/10
There’s a saying: “The customer is always king,” but sometimes saying that out loud feels like being a “rude Karen.” But when the hospitality itself makes you feel like royalty—that is the real sigma rule of the industry. And at Coalspark, I truly felt like a king/queen.
Final Verdict:I absolutely regret not choosing this gem of a restaurant sooner. It’s been a while since I had such a delicious, wholesome, soul-satisfying meal.
"Good food doesn’t just satisfy your taste buds—it soothens your soul."
Fellow foodies will understand what I mean.
A big thank you to the Coalspark team for the amazing experience, and a special shoutout to Mr. Farooq and Mr. Domo for your exceptional...

We stumbled upon this place almost by accident — and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! We originally planned to eat at one of the neighboring, more popular restaurants, but the crowd and long wait time there pushed us to try this spot instead. Honestly, we’re so glad we did.
There was no wait time at all — we were seated immediately. The atmosphere was relaxed, and right from the start, the service stood out. Each person in our group was handed their own menu (a small but thoughtful detail that many places overlook). The servers were attentive and polite, and although some of them struggled with Hindi, the head server was incredibly helpful in taking orders and ensuring everything was smooth.
Now, let’s talk about the food — absolutely delicious! The chicken biryani was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The Mutton Mandi came with an excellent gravy that added depth and richness to the dish. On top of that, they had a variety of mango-based options, including a refreshing mango lassi and something called Mango Mastani — and wow, it did not disappoint. It was rich, creamy, and a perfect finish to the meal.
The only downside to our visit was the lingering smell of paint from some renovations happening downstairs. While a bit distracting, it didn’t overshadow the quality of the food or the service.
This place is truly underrated compared to its overly hyped neighbors. It deserves more attention and foot traffic. If you're in the area and want a great meal without the long lines and chaos, this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit....
