Gourmet Baklava® — Restaurant in Hyderabad

A place absolutely not meant for the common man. It is an extremely over hyped, over priced and successful high margin profitable business establishment. Except for the pricey "kunefe", which is a good replica of the the original Turkish version this place is not worth the visit for the following reasons:

1. Affordability: Every item sold here is extremely over priced. Baklava is desert which has its origins in the ottoman (Turkish) cuisine, which this place tries to replicate. Now it is not like they are importing the products straight form Turkey, everything is prepared in house from locally sourced ingredients. The major constituents of the products are wheat flour, Maida, sugar and vermicelli, which are pretty inexpensive goods. The only pricey ingredient which goes into these dishes is the pista, which a commercial establishment like this can easily procure at good prices in bulk. Hence the prices are not justifiable even though they deliver the products in fancy packaging.
2. Staff: The staff here are not that well trained, meaning none of those behind the counter know anything about the products or ottoman cuisine, which is unlike the staff in Levant which belongs to the same entity. Also the staff here will not pay much attention to you if you do not look like someone with a lot of money to spend (customer profiling) and are trying to ask questions to know the difference between the products.
3. Waiting time: This is not a very spacious store, and is with limited seating capacity. Hence if you visit this place for kunefe be ready to wait for long time. If you are a common man without lot of money to spend then this place is not for you. A little bit pricey but on the otherside you will get real Turkish and middle East baklava. Must try at least once. I loved it because I visited many places here in Hyderabad who don't make baklava this much great. I have visited middle East countries so I can suggest you this withy any second thought.

Gourmet Baklava is a place where you find desserts of middle East region like Turkey, Egypt, Gulf Countries, etc...

I went twice both time my experience was amazing. I had Cheese Kunafa which is my favourite and with Kunafa Turkish coffee which was awesome. My headache disappeared after I had this strong Turkish coffee. They make Kunafa Infront of you and you will be witness of this amazing dessert. Coming toother sweets all are good. But I personally loved Kunafa that too Cheese Kunafa.

Staff was quick and attentive. Good place with around 4 tables. Small and sweet.

Over all a good place to try different thing. It's more like cafe. Recommended to all especially for sweet tooth people and I will recommend Cheese Kunafa always. I hope they will maintain their hardwork and don't let us down if we choose to visit...

The ambience is simple yet elegant, with warm lighting and comfortable seating. It's a perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon dessert or a quick after-dinner treat.

While their selection of baklava and kunafa are truly amazing, I tried their famous caramel milk cake and kunafa.

The staff are friendly and helpful, they patiently explained the different baklava varieties and offered recommendations based on my preferences.

While their baklava is, of course, a must-try (flaky layers drenched in fragrant syrup and studded with nuts), I was particularly impressed by the caramel milk cake. It was incredibly moist and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. Each bite was a delightful symphony of textures and tastes.

For a more traditional Middle Eastern treat, the kunafa is a great option. This cheese-based pastry is light and crispy on the outside, with a gooey, sweet center. It's a truly great experience.

Finding parking in Banjara Hills can sometimes be a challenge, but thankfully, there's usually street parking available in the place. The staff at Gourmet Baklava were incredibly friendly and helpful.
