This is my first visit here, and I'll start by saying that the approach road leading to this place is in very bad condition - it's something that doesn't make for a great initial impression. The parking facility is limited, accommodating maybe 10 to 15 cars at most.
Despite the not-so-good road, I found there was good occupancy in the hotel, suggesting they might have a base of regular customers. When I visited, about 40 percent was occupancy, and I noticed a few regulars who came in, ordered, had their lunch, and left after paying the bill - all by the time our order arrived at our table.
At the entrance, the concept is good and gives a pleasant feeling. The seating is very well arranged, and the lighting is good too, contributing to a comfortable dining atmosphere. I think the thali is fast-served here, based on what I observed.
We ordered egg pulau and chicken fry piece biryani. Before that, we started with veg manchow soup, which was really good. The chicken fry piece biryani had a lot of masala, which actually took away a star from my rating because we found it a bit overwhelming and weren't able to finish it easily. Later, the pulau came in a cooker - it was different from other pulaus I've had, tasted fairly normal, and wasn't anything special.
One highlight was that they serve you with a lot of raita, which is good and tasted really, really good. I ended up mixing the raita with that overloaded masala chicken biryani, and it helped. What's notable is they give you raita in a big bowl here - a quantity that can serve up to 3 people, unlike some other restaurants where you'd get a smaller serving even if you ask for extra.
At last, we ordered carrot halwa, which was a master blaster - it tasted so good that I felt like ordering another serving, but I was already feeling pretty full so I postponed that thought to a next visit. And next time, I'd actually like to order the carrot halwa right at the beginning instead of going for starters. Everything here is served hot, which adds to the satisfaction of having lunch.
Overall, the experience is good, and I'll visit again - maybe after the approach road gets fixed without those holes. The service was good; the stewards and the captain were well-addressive. There's a farmers' plough (hala) on the wall, which suggests the owner of this restaurant has an...
Read moreAfter many recommendations from my friends at the FAT club, I happened to visit this place last Sunday to experience the authenticity of the south indian cuisine and also see if the place really lives up to the expectations, as soon as you walk in you are greeted with an amazing ambience that will definitely take you back to a sweet ride in past...with looks and the music that is carefully chosen from mid 80s n 90s !!
In bhojanam thali they have served okra fry, ridge gourd chutney, simple dal and he star of the show Chamadumpa pulusu along with papad, sweet and an assortment of different pickles and ground spicy podi. They also served is with a small jar full of authentic Desi ghee which we completed all together 😂. Each and every dish part of the thali was equally good and they compliment each other really well.
For sides dishes we had ordered kheema balls, Fish fry, simhapuri chicken which were all equally flavorful and delicious the only complaint we had was how soon the serving plate was empty.. The quantity is a bit on the lower side to our liking and i hope that the hotel takes the customer feedback and increase the quantity a bit.
Along with all the food we had also ordered the much heard about goli soda and we gulped down two bottles of each salt and sugar. It was so good that we had to stop ourselves from over consuming.
The best thing about the place is the friendly atmosphere created by the staff who showed no hesitation to serve you any dish multiple times. The manager was also a friendly person and the way he manages the staff clearly shows he runs a tight ship.
I would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking to have authentic south indian meals...
