All time favourite, fried or steamed both got excellent flavours here. Red chutney is the main protagonist when it comes to adding flavour. Come and savour! They typically have a neutral flavor that lets the filling stand out. The fillings are often finely minced and flavored with garlic and ginger, and can include vegetables, paneer, or non-veg. A mixture of red onions, spring onions, and coriander can add juiciness to any type of filling. Found this place accidentally while looking for good momos. It is such an amazing place to have delicious and really good quality momos. The staff is also polite and welcoming. Boiled momos are typically lighter and healthier as they are not cooked in oil, allowing the flavors of the filling to come through more prominently. On the other hand, fried momos have a crispy exterior and a slightly different flavor profile due to the frying process. Steamed momos or dimsums are the original method of cooking . Fried is a modified version and tastes more like Spring rolls.Although I like consuming both but everyone has their personal favorite & mine is Pan-fried momos, or "kothey," as they offer a delightful combination of textures and flavors. The crispy bottom and soft top create a satisfying eating experience. Pan-frying enhances the fillings' flavors, adding richness and caramelization. The golden-brown appearance is visually appealing, and they pair well with various dipping sauces. Momos are tasty because they are filled with meat, garlic and onions and MSG seasoning.
Together they combine to make the umami flavor super high.
The flavor of umami is something that makes your mouth water and salivate.
And when you combine them with a nice sauce or mayonnaise or chicken soup, it tastes...
Read moreFood The taste of the momos is amazing. The red chutney is very substituting for the lack of flavour in steamed momo and the Mayo helps you calm your mouth as it's cool and the momos are hot. The crunch of the momos is perfect but it hardly brings Any Flavour. Although, the Chicken momo is great the only thing I felt lacking is the quantity of momos. For 70rupees( Steamed chicken momos) you get only 6 pieces. And for 80/- you get Fried chicken momos. The quantity is bad but the quality of food is really good.
Ambience This place has no ambience whatsoever. You have to eat by standing, there is literally no seating available here. If you are ambience kind of person this place won't impress you at all. It's just like a Pani puri stall. Mind that this place is outside a pan shop. You will have place to stand and eat ofcourse if you have no problem with that.
Overall: Great place for a light snack. Make this as an appetizer stop for your next stop to restaurant. If you are bringing a car then it takes away the ambience problem, other than that...
Read moreForget about other momo joints. In search of a hotel or a busy road side joints at the city’s busiest places? No worries, you get them at center of the city available.
Kathmandu Momos would be the best place to have the great veg and non- veg momos available in fried varients as well. The stuffing is perfect and the outer layer is smooth. This is served with red chilly chutney/sauce and mayo which is the best combination. I had the combination of both fried and steam made momos.
Very pocket friendly and healthy. The place is just beside the bus stand before the park hotel. Hard to find but the treasure hunt would...
