#Mota_Kababi is like that hidden gem in your city, which you want to cherish and share with few close ones! Only when hard work and passion mix with food, you can have a place like this. ❤️
The man with super cooking skills Pratyush Anand, learnt these recipes first hand from his mother, his Lucknowi friend's mother and his in-laws. So there's Bihari, Awadhi and Saoji food on the menu and he personally takes care of the kitchen. 😇
I heard Sauji and ran to the place. Being from Nagpur, which is the birthplace of Sauji food, thats one thing I really missed in Hyderabad. One look at the Sauji Chicken here and I knew it was the real deal. Just the tadka from the kitchen was enough to tell that there was some Sauji in the making. If you thought Andhra/Telangana/Rayalseema food is spicy, you need to try this out!
Galouti and Shammis are one of the toughest things to make. And apart from Lucknow and few parts of Delhi, hardly anyone gets it right. One bite of the ones here and I was floating to Lucknow. The meat ratio, spices, consistency - everything is just brilliant.
We also, tried a few special curries from Awadhi and Bihari cuisines. These are unlike any curries I have tried here in Hyderabad. They have a very peculiar taste, which comes from that region. He even has the Masalas coming in from proper cities to keep it authentic.
So if you are looking for some unique taste and brilliant food. Head out there and make sure you catch Pratyush to know more about the food. Thank you Sabyasachi dada for telling me...
Read moreHailing from Jharkhand, this is the season which makes me crave for Litti every time. And living away from home, I was concerned whether I'd find a good place to finally have Litti in Hyderabad and then I came to know of Mota Kababi. I travelled 12km from my accommodation here just for dinner and I was definitely not disappointed. Ordered a plate of Litti Murga here and got the authentic Bihari style cooked Chicken along with 2 nicely sized baked Littis prepared in Ghee. The chicken was simple and yet so rich as usual, just the amount of spice I like, very balanced and very filling. Littis had been cooked very nicely and with decent amounts of ghee too. Very rarely it's happened with me that a food outlet would remind you of your home. The place is a nice, small and cozy one. I'm guessing more people order from here than actually dine, but tbh, the dishes on their menu are better enjoyed while dining rather than ordering it. Staff was pretty welcoming and from around where I belong, so it felt as if you were walking down the streets there. Pricing is a bit on the higher side probably because of a restaurant setting and very few other outlets in the market serving these dishes. 2 littis and chokha, bharta, chutney for 120 is definitely expensive for a person who used to have the same on the streets for 30 rupees only 😅. But for having it once in a while, you can ignore the pricing...
Read moreI visited Mota Kababi Restaurant last week with my family and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes from the Middle East, India, and the Mediterranean. The menu is diverse and has something for everyone.
We ordered some appetizers, salads, main courses, and desserts. The food was delicious and well-presented. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The service was prompt and courteous. The staff was attentive and helpful. The ambiance was cozy and inviting.
Some of the dishes that we really enjoyed were:
Bihari Ghee Galouti Kebab: These were soft and succulent kebabs made with minced mutton and spices. They melted in our mouths and had a rich flavor. Saoji Chicken: This was a spicy and tangy chicken curry from Nagpur. It had a thick gravy and a lot of masala. It went well with the sheermal, a sweet and fluffy bread. Baked Litti Chokha: This was a traditional Bihari dish of baked wheat balls stuffed with sattu (roasted gram flour) and served with mashed potatoes, brinjal, and tomato. It was hearty and satisfying. Malpua with Rabri: This was a sweet dish of deep-fried pancakes soaked in sugar syrup and topped with thickened milk. It was decadent and delightful. We had a great dining experience at Mota Kababi Restaurant and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves kebabs and...
