The Covid-19 pandemic has hit businesses across the world like nothing else ever has. The hospitality and restaurant sector were the first ones to suffer. It has today changed the way we go out and socialise. Simple leisure activities like dining out over the weekend poses a challenge now. With unlock in place, popular cafes & bistros in Hyderabad have now started to open for dine-in, takeaways and deliveries across the city by keeping all the basic safety measures in place. Hyderabad & the soul of the city is intricately connected to the vast array of food options available all throughout it. Offering the kind of multiculturalism that is also reflected in the town’s bars, cafes & event scenes, the best restaurants in Hyderabad include an expansive spread of Asian, Mediterranean, European and, of course, Indian meals. One such place which hits all the notes correctly in terms of ambience, food & service would certainly be Tiger Lily Bistro. Camouflaged behind a white mesh-like wall, Tiger Lily opens up to a massive, bright, and roomy bistro. While the indoors are done in pink pastels, the outdoor seating is a proper backyard amongst mother nature & whatever be your pick, the patrons certainly will be put in awe at the first glance. Although this place is more than a year old, they have come up a with a new menu comprising of some exotic dishes suited for all taste buds out there. Starting the fare with some appetizers, we got Tiger Lily Basil chicken & Tempura fried spicy fish, were quite well done with standard Asian sauces of sweet & sour taste to set the palate on a right note. Next up was Hazelnut Berry bowl, a perfect smoothie bowl comprising of banana, blueberry, strawberry with almond flakes, granola topping, makes it a must-try for all the fitness enthusiasts out there. Next up, we got Spiced Egg and Bacon Waffle Sandwich, which had a bed of waffle topped with a layer of bacons & fried egg, making it a decent pick for breakfast amongst the savouries, however, the thickness of the waffle could have been reduced a bit. The choice of giving beetroot crumb fries in place of standard fries is sure to be reckoned as it gives a great twist to the dish. From the pizzas & sandwiches, we got Peri Peri chicken pizza & Midwest Sriracha Fish burger; pizza having generous amount of toppings of bell peppers & coriander with peri peri chicken chunks on a bed of spicy tomato sauce made it a great pick from this section, onto the burger which had the crumb fried fish patty topped with ranch dressing and soft buns made it a delicious treat. Next up we got Slow Cooked Pulled Lamb Shank which was surely a great pick owing to the tenderness of the meat pieces was served with chestnut rice along with rosemary flavour, however, the pairing could have been changed. Coming to the dessert, Cream Cheese Pistachio Cake & Activated Charcoal Waffle was served. Onto the Pistachio cake, the texture of the cake could have been bit more airy & the pistachio flavoured milk could have been removed, however, the flavours of pistachio & rosewater was quite distinct; the activated charcoal waffle having chocolate batter waffles topped with Nutella, granola & chocolate paired well with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream with the richness of chocolate being aptly balanced with ice-cream. All in all, Tiger Lily is a place which offers laidback holiday vibes, and of course, Instagram-worthy interiors & some fresh food offerings for all...
Read moreFew days back we were at the tiger Lilly bistro to try their new menu.
Ambience (5/5) : Speaking about the ambience of the place , the place is beautifully designed with blush pink and white colour pallet and a hint of golden and pink hues here and there. It is absolutely beautiful and takes you to a princess or barbie house kinda place.
Food (4/5) : the dishes we tried were -
Roasted beet and Feta Salad : I being a weight watcher , lately have started to like salads which are fresh and gives a refreshing taste. This one was definitely one of the. It had roasted beet and feta(as ofcourse the name suggests) , pineapple and nuts. The pineappleacted as a very nive balancing factor in the overall dish. It was something which every cafe would not boast in their salad menu so kudos.
Quesadilla : these were tortillas filled with chicken and cheese served with couple of dips like hummus ,beetroot humus etc. I absolutely loved this one. The taste was reay good and the filling was indianised so it would definitely appeal indian taste buds.
Drunken Noodles : the drunken noodles well did not had any alcohot but these were flat noodles made with soy sauce and chilli sauce in asian style . These were really basic. Taste wise it was not bad n But not the best either. I wish they added some elements to it like nuts or exotic veggies or something to cut the same taste .
Nuttie delight bowl : another one of my facinations nowadays as i have to look for healthy yet tasty options in food is smoothie bowls. This ine here was a berry, banana smoothie topped with kiwi ,nutts and granola. The granola added anice crunch which i liked.
Thai poach bowl : the thai poach bowl was really good. It had panner in a gravy , flavoured rice and tossed veggies. It was a complete mean in a bowl all in all. The paneer was melt in mouth and gravy tasted really awesome and had a taste close to butter chicken gravy.
6.Mushi imprati : this dish was cheesy mushrooms fried with a batter. It was more like a deviks egg minus the egg and plus mushroom and cheese. I felt it could have more cheese to it. It tasted very ordinary to me .
Deconstructed banofie pie : the deconstructed banofie pie was served in a cylinderical shaped hard plastic that held it on the plate. And you need to remove the pie from that plastoc to eat it. It had Cream', caramel and banana. The banana taste was very overpowering though. I would suggest them to use more of caramel and less of banana.
8.Belgium nutty Souffle: the souffle was absolute magic. It was so so fluffy and melted in mouth. It was served with vanilla icecream.Though not sure if it is worth 345 Rs though.
Value for Money (3/5) : I would say the value for money of this place is not very high. The food is fancy and beautifully presented but the postion size is less for the proce charged. A dish which would be sufficient for only one or barely could be shared by two charged for 450-500 + is a pricey affair.
Overal i would say its a good place to spend a lazy evening with your partner or freinds but you should have some good money in your pocket or you cant eat tummy full for sure.since they have the prime location , they might get nice...
Read moreTiger lily bistro is a newly opened café in Jubilee hills. The place offers a panoramic view with a beautifully crafted sitting space. The place was buzzing over the past few days and I was super happy to visit them over.
Their menu is a great combination of how to offer a wide range of variety of food options. Starting with their food, I would have to say that the quality of produce given by them is simply wonderful. My pick from their menu has to be their Lamb burger, Chicken kung pao bowl, Spicy lamb shank and Bang bang prawns.
Lamb burger- This one is something not to miss at any cost. The burger had a lovely juicy patty of lamb which was topped with in house dressing, arugula and English cheddar cheese. I have never had such a wonderful burger in the recent times. Highly addictive and recommended for sure.
Chicken kung pao bowl- The classic kung pao bowl had everything. Noodles, Pokchoi, Soft boiled eggs, Pickled carrot and Bell peppers. The chicken pieces were tossed in a really balanced kung pao sauce and was topped with cashew nuts. Really delicious.
Spicy lamb shank- The wonderful lamb shanks were served in a really unconventional style with cilantro rice, sautéed broccoli and cherry tomatoes. The shanks were cooked in a mildly spiced Moroccan gravy which was really comforting at the same time.
Bang bang prawns- This was one complete package. The prawns had a lovely glaze to them thanks to the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavours that came from their in house sauce. This one could be tried.
For desserts, I had their Chocolate dome and Skillet S’mores. The chocolate dome was served with a white chocolate dome which was filled with walnut honey ice cream and a nice, soft piece of chocolate cake. Poured with hot chocolate ganache, it was a perfect dessert.
Skillet S’mores- The all American classic dessert was served with slightly crisp marshmallow, graham crackers and a thick chocolate reduction. The marshmallows were bruleed before serving which was a new concept for me to try personally.
Not to forget, the place also offers a wide range of nitro cold brew coffee. My personal recommendation would be to try out their Cranberry cold brew and Honey cold brew.
All in all, I am super impressed with the place. Tiger lily truly justified the hype that it got over the past few weeks. I will be happy to visit this place yet again in the coming time....
