Finding good vegetarian food in Hyderabad is a quest in itself. Isha Life’s Mahamudra restaurant in Jubilee Hills was where I had a scrumptious lunch last weekend. A pure vegetarian restaurant that serves soulful food. Mahamudra is Isha Life’s restaurant that serves wholesome and satvik vegetarian food. Coming from the house of Sadhguru, everything at Mahamudra has calmness attached to it. The rustic interiors with simple wooden tables and cutleries just add to the essence of the place. The dine-in area isn’t one of the largest and the most spacious.
While we had gone to try their A’la carte menu, we were told that they only serve a buffet on weekends. The buffet (if I can say) is a proper south Indian affair. Everything from the welcome drinks to starters, main course and dessert is made with the purest of ingredients keeping health in mind.
The starters were rather unique with Idli Kebab, Maddur Vada, Rava Modakan and Kara chutney.Coming to the salads, we had Chana Dal Sundal, Green Salad and Summber Salad. All of these were quite homely and simple salads. The buffet spread had Ragi Roti, Payuru Kurma, Tomato Pappu, Sorakai Sambhar, Mint Rasa, Palak Kootu, Pavakaya Poriyal along with rice, Mushroom Pulao, Curd Rice, Papad and Pickles. There were two desserts that day, Thinai Payasam and Ada Pradhaman.
The buffet which is priced at Rs 750+ is a decent spread to satvik and pure vegetarian dishes. While it’s not the largest vegetarian spread I’ve seen, the simplicity in the food is something you cannot get anywhere else. Read my detailed experience on the blog ...

We entered this place on a fine Tuesday evening and found decent parking lot for cars. Ambience is outstanding and place is pretty secluded. There are two halls divided by sitting area filled by tables and chairs. One can shop Ayurvedic or herbal supplements or products and clothing along with certain utensils, decorative spiritual items and idols of god Shiva.
Later we hopped in to have dinner at another hall. This place is vibrant and warmly lit. In the lunch they serve Rice Thali and in the night they serve Wheat Thali. We got the opportunity to have wheat Thali priced around 550/- and Bisi Bele Bath made of wheat or Godhi excluding GST. Before serving Thali they served soup, absolutely one of the yummiest. Thali arrived and every item tasted very delicious and too yummy that too being organic and definitely SATVIK. The Chickpea-Cauliflower dry curry or fry is awesome. Ragi malt is marvellous. Even the sweet porridge tasted very delicious. Bisi bele bath made of Godhi is yummy too. The water they provide in the bottle is infused with tulsi. Those subtle and gentle meaningful things made this place a heaven for pure vegetarians or vegetarians. I look forward to try Rice Thali as well here.
Without a doubt try this place to get soaked in divine satvik organic food with heart...
