After hearing mutliple reviews about this place - we decided to try this one over the weekend. We called up to make a reservation but they told us that they have stopped taking reservations for the day on the calls due to the high demand of walk-ins. We ended up having to wait around 20mins before we got our turn. The restuarant operates in two floors - currently due to some renovation work on the 1st floor they have closed this floor and only serving on the 2nd floor. They have decent ambiance with both regular tables and the Majlis seating options available. However they tables are like pretty close to each other. So do not expect much of a privacy here.
Talking about the best part, their food - upon recommendation from the staff we tried their
'M36 Grill Chicken Special' - this one was just wow. It came with grilled chicken which was so loaded with creamy sauce and we really loved it (finger lickigingly good like they say haha). It was served along with some fresh pita bread on the side. We really loved this dish and the quantity was great as well for the price we pay (Priced at Rs. 650 for full and Rs. 350 for Half). We had ordered for a full and it was more than enough for 4 of us - we could not complete it in whole and had to go for takeaway for the remaining - you can check the pics I have attached to get an idea)
'Fish Fingers' - like the regular style of fish fingers this one was served along with some french fries and the quantity was pretty good for the price we pay (Priced at Rs. 400). The fish was well cooked and we really enjoyed the freshly made crunchy bites and they served it along with dipping sauce which was so yumm.
'Mutton Madfoon Mandi (Weekend Special)' - this one was the show-stopper dish here. It was so amazingly flavorful and tasty. The mutton pieces were so well cooked and juicy and they fell right of the bone. This is their weekend special item and not available during regular days. This is a must try here, if you are a mutton fan then you should not miss it. We were already half full after having such amazing appetizers and also this particular option of Mandi was only available in Half size so we opted for it and we felt very glad that we chose this one from the list. We will definitely go back to try this one again. The quantity was pretty good for the price as well (Priced at Rs. 675 for Half)
'Fish Grilled Mandi' - Even this one had well cooked fish served on flavored rice. But my personal favorite was the mutton mandi and I liked it better to the fish version. The quantity of this one was also pretty good for the price (Priced at Rs. 475)
The staff was polite however as it was pretty crowded on the weekend, we had to wait for long before we were attended(after we got seated) and also we had to ask multiple times for the service. This was the only complaint we had here - felt that the service can be improved.
So overall it was wonderful experience and a well satisfied tummy at the end. No wonder why Mandi@36 is considered one of the best mandi places in Hyderabad. I will definitely recommend you guys to try out this place and it gets pretty crowded during the peak hours so be prepared for it and if possible (if they allow) make a reservation before hand to avoid the wait time.

Read moreMandi is a traditional Yemeni dish usually made from rice, meat (lamb or chicken), and a mixture of subtle spices. The meat used is usually a young and small sized lamb to enhance the taste further. The meat should not be grilled, nor boiled & no oil should be used in cooking it. Mandi is a dish which needs to be slow-cooked, over four hours or so, in a hole in the ground, not fully sealed but covered nevertheless. The meat needs to be fresh, not frozen, and either Jazeeri or Indian. Once the meat is ready, it should be served on the rice with a tangy and sour sauce & is usually garnished with nuts. One major difference between Biryani and Mandi that Mandi is much more subtle as it has fewer spices as compared to the latter which has loads of spices in it. Mandi@36 is considered one of the best mandi restaurants in Hyderabad; they have delicious and well-flavoured rice, chicken, mutton and various sauces. The Mutton Juicy Marg mandi is one of the top sought after options to choose from the list which the outlet has to offer. If you want to have an authentic Yemeni food experience then make your way down to Mandi@36 which is situated on the most popular lanes of Jubilee Hills at Road No 36. Here's presenting the dishes from my recent visit to @mandi36jubileehills : Mutton Leg Mandi - Apart from the standard rice & spices, the meat was mainly a major chunk of the leg piece which was absolutely a delight to savour. Mutton Shorba - This is a tasty soup which is made with bone-in mutton pieces with a thicker consistency which makes it a perfect dish to be served at the very beginning of any meal. Kunafa - It is the most celebrated dessert in middle east. It is prepared by filling cheese, cream, fruits or chocolate and soaked in sugar syrup which makes it a great dessert that can be served after a traditional Mughlai or Middle Eastern Meal. A must recommended dish for all when you are...
