⭐️⭐️⭐️ Interesting mix of ideas, but with room to grow
Visited ALCHEMIST Coffee Company recently. The ambience was moderate to good — clean interiors and a relaxed setup that gave off a pleasant vibe at first. What stood out immediately was the beautiful aroma of coffee that hung in the air — inviting and warm, setting a promising tone.
Drinks:
Chilli Guava was a surprise hit. It delivered a punchy, bold guava flavor with a sharp tang and a gentle heat from the chilli — well-balanced and refreshing.
Watermelon Pineapple Mojito leaned heavily into sour notes initially, almost too tart for comfort, but once the ice settled in and diluted it a bit, it turned into a pleasant, zesty drink that worked well.
Mango Symphony unfortunately missed the mark. The combination of sour mango and jalapeños felt confused — clashing rather than complementing. It may be a specialty, but for us, the flavor didn’t sit well, making it a difficult sip.
Food:
Pad Thai Noodles were excellent — flavorful, with the right mix of tangy, sweet, and umami. The texture of the noodles was spot-on, and the portion size was generous. Definitely a highlight.
Mean Bean Tacos offered an enjoyable Mexican flavor, with a hearty filling that was well-seasoned and comforting. However, the taco shell was limp and lacked the crispness you'd expect, which took away a bit from the experience.
Burrito Bowl was another strong dish. The rice, beans, veggies, and sauces came together beautifully — layered flavors with just enough spice and warmth. A great pick if you enjoy Mexican fare.
Baked Eggs and Sausages were simple yet satisfying. The dish had a nice homely appeal, and the eggs were baked just right with a mildly spiced sausage pairing that felt hearty.
Piri Piri French Fries had a decent kick but fell short in texture. They lacked the crispness and depth of seasoning that would have elevated them beyond average.
Tiramisu was a bit of a letdown. The coffee powder on top was too overpowering and bitter, masking the delicate flavors of mascarpone and sponge that make tiramisu what it should be. Not awful, but not enjoyable either.
As someone who reviews regularly, I appreciate the effort the team at Alchemist puts in — they’re clearly trying to offer something different. This review is not to discourage, but to give honest, constructive feedback based on our experience. With a few tweaks and some refinement in flavor balance and presentation, this place has the potential to offer something...

The culinary landscape of Jaipur had begun to resemble a desert, in that each eatery, although unique in appearance, only 'appeared' differentiated, when in actual fact, a tired & repetitive menu, substandard produce, unimaginative ingredients were being tossed together with a rather unhealthy dose of processed ungoodness!
That was until The Alchemist. In keeping with its reverential name, this couldn't-come-sooner savior had seriously perked up my wife Anuja's and my own otherwise-staunch love or our historic pink city.
I could wax lyrical about this eatery till the cows grazed and returned. But in the interest of the generation I want desperately to visit and subsequently patronize The Alchemist, I'm going to simply list key highlights.
The generous & open space, covered as well as al fresco, is thoughtfully designed by our friend Devyani from The Kotri. Classical Contemporary might be a fitting encapsulation of the aesthetic. Pleasing, comfortable, inviting.
The menu, in its own aesthetic, chic, modern, easy, three-part. In its content, showcasing a diverse selection of what I'd call 'elevated' cafe-cuisine, an intriguing combination of Asian, Global, European
The taste - fresh, flavourful, balanced, expressed through an array of preparations that, while each champions a particular produce & flavor, also brings either surprise, or contrast, or both! By far and by a long shot, the tastiest food in town. Particular favourites of ours thus far include The Bachelor's Chicken Subway Sandwich, the Pulled Mutton & Cheese Sandwich, the Roast Chicken, the Greek Salad. Special mention of the Ciabata bread used for the sandwiches; light, airy, crisp, yummy. Interesting dessert roster too. The eclair is especially tantalizing
Value, for the taste, freshness, sophistication, portions, is very good
Location, quaint, dead-end lane in c scheme
Service, perhaps the lone gripe. But we're assured by courteous manager Yashasvi and by Head Chef Sahil, this is an aspect being specifically and urgently addressed
It may not be a stetch to say that The Alchemist then is akin to that rare & illusive oasis. When you do reach it though, it's sure to quench your thirst,...
Read moreThis cafe is INCREDIBLE!! If you take nothing else away from this review, TRY THE TIRAMISU!
I had this cafe saved on Google Maps as a “might go” and only happened to stop in because I was desperate for a bit of AC. As someone who has travelled around India quite a bit, I am aware that it is usually hard to find food (besides Indian) that tastes authentic. This place is the exception!! I wish my Jaipur trip was longer so I could try more of their menu items!
I tried their Asian grilled chicken bowl, which blew me away, and their classic matcha. Each part of the dish was cooked to perfection, I wish I had taken a photo, but was too excited to eat! Afterwards, a staff member approached us and invited us to view their kitchen and experience their tiramisu, free-of-charge. However, it was SO GOOD that we immediately ordered a portion for takeaway. I have had tiramisu in New York, and even in Italy (where it originates) and this was the best tiramisu I’ve had IN MY LIFE!
If I am ever in Jaipur again, I will make sure to make several trips back to this cafe. Thank you to the staff for the kindness you showed us and for the care you obviously put into each dish. 10/10...
