We stayed in hotel pearl palace while we were in Jaipur. It was only when we later read through our lonely planet that we found the rooftop restaurant to also be one of the best rated in Jaipur. The rooftop restaurant is indeed everything you want and need to experience while visiting Jaipur. The decoration hasnt spared any expense. The colours and furniture compliment each other perfectly and make this rooftop a mini paradise, especially at night when we were also treated to live music from local performers. During our stay we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed it all. They offer a wide range of food covering several cuisines, but we only had Indian so can only comment on that. We highly recommend the lassis which come in all fruit flavours. In terms of food, the curries we tried, as well as the tandoori dishes, were fantastic and full of flavour. If you have any dietary requirements do specify rather than reading the ingredients on the menus, these are often very general and don't include things that aren't especially unique to the fish (which makes sense considering the beautiful complexity of many Indian dishes). Service can be a little slow sometimes so do consider this before coming to the restaurant. It is also often quite busy (especially on weekends). So, If you're planning to visit, make it a relaxing and worthwhile trip by ensuring you don't mind a potential delay on your food arriving. Lastly, for those seeking an alcoholic beverage with their meal, it is worth noting that peacock rooftop restaurant does not offer alcohol. Additionally, for those requiring step-free access (as the rooftop is four floors up), there is no elevator. This is however a good opportunity for those who are not staying at the pearl palace to poke their heads into the beautiful and colourful hallways of the hotel.
All in all, a great and...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Peacock Restaurant in Jaipur in March 2023, and the experience was truly delightful. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me to a world of elegance and charm.
The restaurant's name is fitting, as the décor is adorned with peacock motifs, showcasing the rich colors and intricate designs that are synonymous with Rajasthan. The attention to detail in the interior design creates a cozy yet upscale atmosphere.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu boasts a diverse array of Rajasthani and Indian dishes that cater to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences. I opted for some traditional Rajasthani specialties, and I was not disappointed. The flavors were authentic and rich, offering a satisfying culinary journey through the region's cuisine.
The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, courteous, and eager to recommend dishes based on preferences. It's clear that they take pride in offering a personalized dining experience.
What truly stood out was the breathtaking rooftop seating area. With a view overlooking the city, dining at Peacock Restaurant felt like a truly magical experience. The view was especially enchanting during sunset, with the cityscape bathed in warm hues.
As for pricing, while it's on the slightly higher side, the quality of food, service, and the overall experience justifies it. Peacock Restaurant is perfect for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.
In summary, Peacock Restaurant in Jaipur is a hidden gem that offers an enchanting blend of authentic Rajasthani flavors, impeccable service, and a mesmerizing ambiance. Whether you're a food connoisseur or a traveler seeking a memorable dining experience, this restaurant is...

Pre-booked a table via Zomato. When we got to the restaurant they couldn't immediately see our names on the list despite us showing the reservation we had. Instead of resolving this they proceeded to welcome guests and seat them even though they arrived after us, so we were left standing there whilst they were ignoring us... In fact they ignored two ladies behind us to seat a middle aged western man who just turned up and ignored the ladies which seemed very sexist to me.
Eventually they sent us upstairs, where we had the same issue... We showed reservation and despite there being 4 tables unoccupied they 'had no seating' and instead put us in a large hut for just two of us. Minutes later they came in and asked us if we minded sharing with other guests...
This is very frustrating as we prebooked all of this and can see other couples being seated and free tables. After saying we would leave they finally gave us a table ( it shouldnt have come to this )
The food was really good, I had the Kadai which was one of the best I have ever had, but over shadowed by incompetence and rude service.
During the meal there were a male couple sat close to us and the staff were talking and laughing directly about them and I felt very guilty witnessing this, it was uncomfortable to witness.
Lastly, when we finished the meal. We didn't anticipate the portion sizes and were unable to finish it all. The waiters taking our plates away made a comment whilst standing next to us and showed his colleague the food we had left which was extremely uncomfortable.
This place could have been a 5/5, but the service was disgusting. Overall everything we witnessed meant it is not somewhere I could...
