Brahmaniya Dining Hall — Restaurant in Jamnagar

I am a South Indian and wanted to try the best Gujarati Vegetarian food in town. Surfed the net and after reading the fantabulous reviews, zeroed onto this restaurant. We reached there at 2.45 Noon. The restaurant was full though it was a week day. The manager directed us to a few chairs placed on the verandah of the hotel, after a 10 minute wait, we were ushered in. The seating was comfortable. Food arrived immediately. The presentation was a typical thali with katoris filled with a variety of curries and sabzis. The food was piping hot and fresh. The rotis were super soft and delicious. The food was just above par. The serving was super fast to start with and the manager enquiring us what we wanted..... but slowly after the 2nd serving it started slacking and we had to call the waiters time and again to serve us what we wanted. The unlimited thali didn't include any sweet dish. So, we ordered basunthi which was amazingly super good. Card payment wasn't available hence had to pay cash. One of the most authentic and famous Gujarati thali (set menu meal) in Jamnagar. Assorted vegetables (potato, pulses and seasonal green), dal, kadhi, farshan, chapati, papad, salad, pickle, buttermilk, etc. All freshly cooked and served generously. Unlimited thali meal at Rs.190 for adults and Rs.100 for children (as on 11 October 2022) is absolute value for money. Ambience is decent and air-conditioned. Expect waiting on weekends and public holidays. Take away option is available, but dine in for better experience. Sweet dishes are available at an extra charge of Rs.50 per portion.
