THE GRAND CHETNA — Restaurant in Jamnagar

The Grand Chetna used to be one of my favorite places, but lately, the experience has gone downhill. The staff and receptionist behavior have become quite unprofessional — they seem disinterested and often rude when asked simple questions. Long waiting queues make it even more frustrating, and there’s barely any proper management to handle the rush.

With the increase in popularity, the quality has definitely dropped. The taste that once made this place stand out feels bland and inconsistent now. Food portions seem smaller, and service has become much slower.

Cleanliness is another major concern — tables aren’t wiped properly, and the overall hygiene doesn’t match the restaurant’s reputation. It’s disappointing to see such a good place lose its charm due to poor management and...

The restaurant is on the first floor. The steps leading to the restaurants are shoddy. The plates and katoris were already placed on the table which is not a good practice in hygiene angle. I was one among the three customers eating in the entire restaurant. Service was not good. Each time I had to call them to serve roti once my plate became empty. Rice served was so cold. The waiters were chatting and busy in their own world. At last an old man who cleans the tables stepped up and tried to cover up for the other waiters who were least bothered. I had a bad experience. Good traditional lodge with legendary brand name in the city. They are famous for their puran-podi ( A favorite Gujarati sweet, mostly made in home. People can not find it even in sweet shop ) Very big dish provided with 8 small bowls, one long bowl specially for puran-podi. All the food provided was totally hygienic and with best quality.
