Read moreNeel Sagar was recommended to us while in Coorg for some authentic local cuisine and it did not disappoint at all. The restaurant is located pretty much in the middle of the town, bang opposite the fort and on the way to Raja’s Seat from local bus station.
Ambiance: It doesn’t boast much of the ambiance. The lightening was a little low even though we went in the afternoon. Cleanliness wasn’t that good as the floor was a little dirty. Washrooms were more of a make-shift arrangement and not maintained well.
Food: We ordered their Coorgi special and it was great. The handi sabzi was essentially cauliflower manchurian balls in the local spices based orange curry cooked in an earthen pot. This rude interaction set a negative tone for our visit. We were waiting for one of our team members to join us and asked the same waiter to give us a couple of minutes before taking our order. Despite seeing that we were ready, he ignored us for ten minutes and then rudely asked if we were done with our "5 minutes" and could he take the order. We ordered Ghee Dosa, Poori, and Idli, specifically requesting that the Poori be served first as we had a very hungry child with us. However, the waiter brought the Idli first and did not order the Dosa and Poori until much later. It took 20 minutes for the full order to arrive, and throughout, the waiter's behavior remained consistently arrogant and unprofessional. We have communicated the waiter's rude behavior to the cashier and hope they will address this issue to improve the...
