We were on our way to Madikeri Fort and museum. On the way, we had a glimpse of this restaurant from distance. We found it interesting. So on our way back from the museum, we decided to stop by for lunch there.

It is a small cozy restaurant with fairly wide variety of items in the menu. We had Pepper rasam, Cream of Tomato soup, Paneer 65, Aappam and Veg chettinad. Delicious and adequate. Pepper rasam may be little spicy for some. But I liked it. It's a good kind of heat from the pepper and gently teases the taste buds.

The coffee and tea from the Beans N Brews menu were good too. We chose turkish coffee, masala chai and hot chocolate to finish our meal with. Turkish coffee was interesting. I wanted to try Tibetan butter tea at first. Sadly, it was not available today. Hopefully, next time.

The interiors are well designed. They have remodelled a house into a restaurant but not much. We can have the feeling like we are sitting in one of the rooms at a house and having our meal. It was a house of a late freedom fighter as Mr Bhim Singh from the restaurant told. Also told that Mahatma Gandhi had been to this place when he visited Kodagu and showed us the room where he used to stay. We find it rather noble that they don't use it for publicity of the restaurant or anything.

Mr Bhim Singh saw to us having quite a good time while we were there. He is a very active and charming person who adds an element to the place. He is interesting and kind enough to share his life journey in a nut shell with us. Thanks for it, dear sir. We were intrigued and amused by it at the same time. We hope to visit...

A connoisseur of the culinary world, with more experience than I’ve lived years, Mr. Singh is the kind of host who doesn’t just serve food, he curates an experience. His genuine warmth, effortless hospitality, and deep-rooted passion for the craft elevated the entire afternoon. A true people’s person, he has an uncanny ability to make guests feel like old friends returning home.

Every dish we tried was a testament to thoughtful preparation and authentic flavour. The local signature favourite, Paneer Ghee Roast, was simply outstanding; rich, aromatic, and cooked to absolute perfection. We even ventured slightly off-menu and requested paneer prepared in a traditional South Indian curry style and it was delivered with such finesse, it felt like a dish passed down through generations. From start to finish, the meal was flawless. The flavors were balanced, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation humble yet inviting.

In a world of rushed service and generic menus, this restaurant stands out as a reminder of what true hospitality and heartfelt cooking can be. It wasn’t just a meal, it was a homely experience I won’t soon forget.
